THE POSITION
Build a rewarding future as a Maintenance Repairman 2 with the Department of Human Services (DHS) at the Danville State Hospital. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This position supports the repair and upkeep of buildings, machinery, and equipment throughout Danville State Hospital. As a Maintenance Repairman 2, you will perform the following duties:
Carpentry Tasks:Construct and repair wooden structures, cabinets, frames, and related materials
Masonry Work:Build wooden or steel forms, place concrete, and finish slabs, sidewalks, ramps, and walls
Door Systems:Repair doors, frames, hardware, and locking mechanisms including electronic systems
Surface Installation:Install and repair flooring, sheetrock, plaster, tile, and other surface materials
Mechanical Repairs:Operate equipment to fabricate or fix metal components and complete roofing tasks
Electrical And Plumbing:Repair circuits, switches, faucets, drains, and various water or heat systems

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. Your schedule may change based on operational needs.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
Two years of experience as a Maintenance Repairman 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration) ; or
Four years of experience in building and plant maintenance work, which has involved at least two of the building, electrical, or mechanical trades; or
Any equivalent combination of experience and training that affords the applicant with the Required Knowledges, Skills, and Abilities.
