Job Title: Food Science Research Engineer

Location: Hershey, PA

Type: Contract

Work Model: Onsite -

Responsibilities

Develop and optimize chemical, biological, or mechanical processes related to food engineering

Conduct research and experiments to improve food processing techniques and efficiency

Analyze data from pilot plants and manufacturing environments to inform process improvements

Troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues during testing and production

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support product development and innovation

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Food Engineering, Biological Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry, or a related technical field

0-2 years of relevant experience; internships, co-ops, research projects, or food-processing experience considered

Experience working in food processing, salty snacks, confectionery, pilot plants, or manufacturing environments preferred

Familiarity with data analysis, DOE/statistics, and hands-on equipment troubleshooting is a plus

Strong problem-solving and communication skills
