Job Description
The Warehouse Worker plays a key role in ensuring efficient, accurate, and safe movement of materials throughout the facility. This position handles inbound receiving, outbound shipping, inventory control, and material handling while maintaining high standards of quality, documentation, and safety. The role requires hands-on work with warehouse equipment, use of ERP and inventory systems, and close collaboration with a small team in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
Unload inbound deliveries and verify materials against packing slips, checking for accuracy and damage before accepting shipments.
Inspect incoming materials and enter receipts accurately into the inventory or ERP system to maintain up-to-date stock records.
Prepare outbound orders by picking, packing, and labeling products according to shipping requirements and customer specifications.
Create bills of lading and other shipping documentation, and coordinate pickups with carriers to ensure timely outbound shipments.
Maintain accurate inventory counts, assist with cycle counts, and help resolve discrepancies in stock levels and locations.
Store materials properly and organize warehouse locations to support efficient order picking and inventory control.
Operate sit-down forklifts, pallet jacks, RF scanners, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
Load and unload trucks while following proper material handling procedures to prevent damage and ensure safe operations.
Use ERP, inventory, and computer systems to update stock records, enter data, create labels, and maintain shipping and receiving logs.
Follow all company procedures for documentation, inventory control, and shipping to ensure compliance and traceability.
Adhere to safety guidelines, use appropriate equipment, and promptly report hazards or unsafe conditions to support a safe workplace.
Support continuous improvement initiatives by suggesting process enhancements and participating in quality and safety efforts.
Collaborate with team members and work closely with the lead during initial training, asking questions and seeking help when needed.
Communicate clearly with colleagues and supervisors to coordinate daily tasks, resolve issues, and ensure smooth warehouse operations.
Essential Skills
1-3 years of warehouse experience in shipping, receiving, or material handling preferred.
Proven ability to perform material handling tasks such as picking, packing, loading, and unloading products.
Experience operating forklifts, preferably sit-down forklifts, or a strong willingness to obtain forklift certification.
Ability to lift 50+ pounds and stand for extended periods while performing warehouse duties.
Familiarity with ERP or inventory software and comfort working with computer-based systems.
Basic computer proficiency, including email, data entry, and label creation.
Strong communication skills to coordinate tasks and ask questions when clarification is needed.
Solid organizational skills to maintain accurate inventory records and keep work areas orderly.
Ability to use RF scanners for order picking, inventory updates, and tracking materials.
Demonstrated commitment to following safety guidelines and maintaining a safe work environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Hands-on experience with sit-down forklifts and pallet jacks in a warehouse or manufacturing setting.
Picking and packing products for outbound shipments in a fast-paced environment.
Experience maintaining shipping logs and documentation for inbound and outbound orders.
Comfort working with ERP or warehouse management systems to update inventory and process orders.
Ability to learn and adapt to new systems, procedures, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Strong attention to detail when verifying packing slips, inspecting materials, and entering data.
Willingness to collaborate with a small team and train closely with a lead during the onboarding period.

Work Environment
The role is based in a small shop environment with approximately 5-7 employees, offering a balance of privacy and collaboration. Workstations are spaced out to provide personal workspace, yet team members work closely together and train directly with a lead during the first few weeks. The position follows a first-shift schedule from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with overtime available before the shift and some occasional weekend work as needed. The work involves regular use of forklifts, pallet jacks, RF scanners, and computer systems in a warehouse setting, with frequent lifting, standing, and moving materials throughout the day. Employees are expected to be comfortable asking questions, seeking help, and engaging with coworkers to maintain a safe, efficient, and supportive work environment.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $24.00/hr.
