Job Title: Warehouse Worker
Job Description
This role focuses on supporting warehouse and production operations by handling materials, preparing shipments, and maintaining accurate inventory records. You will split your time between the warehouse and the production floor, performing a mix of loading, unloading, packing, and documentation tasks while ensuring all products and materials move efficiently and safely through the facility.
Responsibilities
Perform basic warehouse duties, including loading and unloading products safely and efficiently.
Palletize products and prepare them for shipment according to company standards.
Print and apply labels accurately for incoming and outgoing products.
Use computers to print labels, check inventory levels, and update system records.
Operate RF scanners to perform inventory picking, pulling, and tracking.
Ensure the accuracy of all receiving and shipping documents and correct any discrepancies promptly.
Support material handling activities such as order picking, packing, packaging, and general warehouse labor.
Cross-train and work between manufacturing production and warehouse operations as needed.
Perform packing, repacking, and filling tasks while working on the production floor.
Ensure the timely shipment, receipt, and transfer of all finished products and raw materials.
Accurately complete all required documentation related to shipping, receiving, inventory control, and production support.
Assist with shipping and receiving functions, including loading, unloading, and staging materials.
Participate in inventory control activities such as cycle counts and inventory checks.
Follow Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards, particularly within cosmetics and personal care product environments when applicable.
Handle materials safely, including lifting and moving products in accordance with safety guidelines.
Collaborate with team members to support production and warehouse needs and assist wherever needed across operations.
Maintain a clean and organized work area, recognizing that floors may be wet or dirty and adapting work practices accordingly.
Use ERP and related systems to support inventory, shipping, and production processes.
Communicate clearly with colleagues and supervisors to coordinate tasks and resolve issues.
Train and support others when needed, leveraging lead or training experience where applicable.
Essential Skills
Experience performing basic warehouse duties, including loading, unloading, and palletizing products.
Proficiency with material handling, picking, packing, packaging, and general warehouse labor.
Experience with shipping and receiving processes, including documentation and accuracy checks.
Ability to use computers for label printing, inventory checking, and basic data entry.
Experience working with RF scanners for inventory picking and tracking.
Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate labeling, documentation, and inventory control.
Strong communication skills to coordinate effectively with warehouse and production teams.
Solid math skills, including pen-and-paper calculations for picking and pulling inventory.
Comfort working in a cross-functional role between warehouse and production environments.
Ability to follow Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards in a production environment.
Capability to perform inventory control tasks such as cycle counts and inventory checks.
Physical ability to lift, move, and handle materials safely in a warehouse and production setting.
Comfort working with large pumps, tanks, piping systems, and related production equipment in a manufacturing environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Lead experience and comfort with training other team members.
Experience with GMP specifically in cosmetics or personal care manufacturing is a strong plus.
Familiarity with SAP or other ERP systems for inventory, shipping, and production processes.
Experience operating forklifts or other material handling equipment.
Experience in production or manufacturing environments, particularly in personal care or chemical-related industries.
Ability to adapt to changing priorities and assist across multiple operational areas as needed.

Work Environment
The role is based in a personal care product manufacturing facility that operates similarly to many chemical companies, but the products handled are not harmful. The site includes three different production floors: one with large pumps and tanks, and two with extensive piping systems. The environment can be very hot during the summer, and floors may be dirty and wet, requiring careful attention to safety and footing. You will split your time between the warehouse and the production floor, assisting wherever needed across operations. Standard working hours for this role are approximately 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required and includes safety glasses, steel-toe boots, hearing protection, and hard hats. You will work with technologies such as RF scanners, ERP systems (including SAP), and other warehouse and production equipment to support material handling, inventory management, and production processes.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Darien, IL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr.
