THE ROLE : The VP General Manager is responsible for the overall leadership, strategy, and performance of the business unit. This role holds full accountability for profit and loss (P&L), operational execution, market growth, and organizational capability, ensuring alignment with corporate strategy while delivering sustainable financial results. The VP/GM will lead cross-functional teams across sales, operations, product management, finance, and HR to drive revenue growth, operational excellence, and customer satisfaction. This leader plays a critical role in shaping market strategy, developing talent, and ensuring the organization is positioned to achieve both short-term and long-term objectives.

Develop and execute the strategic plan for the business unit aligned with corporate priorities.
Identify growth opportunities including new markets, products, and partnerships.
Translate strategy into clear operational and financial plans.
Own full P&L responsibility, including revenue growth, margin improvement, and cost management.
Deliver annual operating plan targets and long-term financial commitments.
Monitor key financial and operational metrics to ensure performance and accountability
Lead cross-functional teams to optimize processes, productivity, and customer delivery.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency and profitability.
Ensure operational alignment across supply chain, service delivery, and product lifecycle management.
Partner with sales and marketing teams to expand market share and strengthen customer relationships.
Lead key customer engagements and strategic account relationships.
Monitor industry trends, competitor activity, and market dynamics.
Build, develop, and lead a high-performing leadership team and establish a culture of accountability, collaboration, and innovation.
Partner closely with corporate functions including finance, HR, operations, and product management.
Represent the business unit in executive leadership forums.
Ensure alignment between business unit priorities and enterprise initiatives.

QUALIFICATIONS :
Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering or a related field; MBA preferred
15+ years of experience in product management, business strategy, or related fields,
Proven ability to lead cross-functionally in a commercial environment with strong collaboration skills, strategic mindset and business acumen
Demonstrated success managing P&L responsibility and delivering business growth
Experience leading cross-functional teams in complex global or regional environments with the ability to develop talent
Organizational capability and leadership pipeline strength
Strong strategic thinking combined with operational execution, strong financial and operational management
Executive communication and stakeholder influence
Change leadership and transformation capability
Achievement of operating plan commitments and market share expansion and customer satisfaction
Operational efficiency and performance improvement
DAY IN THE LIFE :
In this role, the working environment is primarily hybrid "office-based" with occasional exposure to the shop facilities and potential field elements in municipal or industrial water or wastewater facilities which may include weather extremities, use of PPE, exposure to hazardous material or loud noises. The physical demands may include but not limited to regular sitting, standing, lifting up to 25 lbs. In addition, in this role travel may be required domestic and internationally up to 25-40%.

The salary range for this position is $275,000 to $325,000 plus bonus. Starting pay is dependent on multiple factors, such as skills, experience, and work location, and is not typically at the top of the range.
