Job Title: Maintenance Engineer (2nd Shift or 3rd shift)
Job Description
This role focuses on performing electrical and mechanical maintenance to keep plant equipment operating safely, reliably, and efficiently. You will support a highly automated manufacturing environment by troubleshooting, repairing, and installing electrical systems and machinery, while completing preventative maintenance and documentation required for compliance and customer standards.
Responsibilities
Perform electrical duties associated with the construction, installation, maintenance, and repair of plant equipment and electrical systems.
Conduct preventative maintenance checks on machinery and electrical systems and complete all required documentation to support compliance and customer requirements.
Install new electrical services and connections for plant equipment, ensuring safe and reliable operation.
Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues on production equipment, including systems operating at 480V and 3-phase power.
Support the operation and maintenance of equipment such as extrusion lines, conveyors, boilers, chillers, bearings, belt chains, rollers, and related components.
Perform electrical services to ensure continuous and reliable operation of plant equipment across multiple departments.
Utilize established lockout/tagout procedures when performing electrical work, testing, or when operating or attending equipment.
Follow all safety policies and procedures at all times while performing job duties.
Maintain good housekeeping in the maintenance shop and throughout the facility, including cleaning up after each maintenance job.
Adapt to and support technology and automation initiatives that replace paper-based and manual processes within the plant.
Perform other duties within the maintenance job classification as directed by supervision.
Essential Skills
3-5 years of industrial maintenance experience.
Demonstrated experience with mechanical and electrical troubleshooting in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
Experience troubleshooting programmable logic controllers (PLCs).
Experience working with 480V and 3-phase electrical systems.
Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, and reading related schematics.
Experience working with bearings, belt chains, rollers, boilers, and chillers.
Minimum 2 years of demonstrated electrical experience.
Ability to read, write, and comprehend basic electrical and mechanical schematics.
Experience working with control voltage systems.
Experience working with contactors, sensors, relays, and stop/start circuits (preferred).
High school diploma or GED.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Exposure to or experience with coordinate measuring machines (CMM), Six Sigma, and capital expenditure (CapEx) projects is beneficial.
Strong troubleshooting mindset with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex mechanical and electrical issues.
Comfort working with older machinery and adapting to new technology and automation implementations.
Ability to follow detailed safety procedures, including lockout/tagout, and maintain thorough documentation.
Effective communication skills to work collaboratively with maintenance, production, and supervision teams.

Work Environment
The facility operates multiple departments, including extrusion, finishing, and mixing, and features equipment such as eight extrusion lines, chillers, boilers, conveyors, and other production machinery. The environment is a union facility, and this role works closely with both union and non-union personnel. The plant uses older machines and is non-climate-controlled, so conditions may be warm or cold depending on the season. You will work on a fixed shift schedule, with openings on 2nd shift (4:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m.) and 1st shift (8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.), and a shift differential for applicable shifts. The role involves hands-on work around industrial equipment, adherence to strict safety and lockout/tagout procedures, and the use of standard maintenance tools and electrical testing equipment.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $49920.00 - $65187.00/hr.
