GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

The Account Clerk position, in the Revenue Collections Department, is responsible for collecting the majority of revenue for the City. As an Account Clerk, this position is responsible for billing and collection of income tax, lodging tax, and utilities (e.g. water, sewer, solid waste, storm water). Also billing and collections for other revenue sources, including, but not limited to, cemetery, police, engineering, and parks & recreation.

JOB DIMENSION:

The Revenue Collections Department is a division of the Finance Department. This office is responsible for billing and collecting the majority of revenue for the City. In doing so, this department is charged with assisting the public in a way that inspires confidence in the City's integrity, efficiency and fairness.

QUALIFICATIONS:

? High school diploma or GED equivalent.

? High School or other formal clerical training.

? A minimum of five (5) years of experience as a cashier or other experience where handling large sums of money is required.

? Experience in customer service or other related experience requiring communication skills on the telephone and in-person.
