Summary About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the U.S. ARMY COUNTERINTELLIGENCE COMMAND, OPERATIONS SUPPORT BATTALION, FT. MEADE, MD. Responsibilities Produces detailed two- and three-dimensional CAD drawings and models that accurately reflect design intent, incorporating modifications based on test feedback. Develops and optimizes CAD/CAM programs and CNC machining strategies for complex geometries and exotic materials, pushing the boundaries of available manufacturing equipment. Manages multiple concurrent assignments by prioritizing tasks, tracking milestones, and proactively communicating risks or schedule impacts to relevant stakeholders. Independently fabricates, overhauls, maintains, and repairs devices using a broad range of techniques including machining, welding, heat treating, and surface treatments across multiple media and materials. In order to qualify, you must meet the education requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as 1) manufacturing bespoke electro-mechanical devices using advanced media (metals, plastics, resins, composites) and machinery (CNC, CAD/CAM, 3D printing, welding); 2) using CAD software to research, design, and modify commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) technologies into functional solutions for unique, constraint-heavy operational environments; AND 3) serving as a primary technical advisor to senior intelligence officers, coordinate cross-agency projects, and author complex technical documentation. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the Federal service (GG/GS-12).
