Inside Sales Representative

We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Inside Sales Representative to support both domestic and international clients from our corporate headquarters in Wheeling, Illinois.

Key ResponsibilitiesCustomer Account Management
Manage assigned customer accounts with a focus on customer satisfaction, sales growth, and profitability.
Serve as the primary point of contact for customer inquiries, order status updates, pricing requests, and delivery information.
Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and internal stakeholders.
Quoting, Order Entry & Sales Support
Prepare and process customer quotes, orders, revisions, and confirmations accurately and efficiently.
Support domestic and international customers on the Power Transmission team.
Handle high-volume order processing, managing approximately 50-75 complex orders daily, often containing multiple line items.
Review contracts, purchase orders, and customer requirements to ensure all order details are accurate before processing.
Support the outside sales team through timely execution of customer requests and sales activities.
Customer Service & Problem Resolution
Resolve customer concerns related to orders, shipping, pricing, credits, debits, and returns.
Authorize and process return goods requests in accordance with company procedures.
Communicate customer requirements and special requests to Operations, Engineering, and other internal teams.
Escalate issues to management in a timely manner when necessary.
Communication & Service Rotation
Participate in a weekly rotation between email support and inbound phone support.
Manage approximately 210-265 customer emails daily during designated email support weeks.
Handle an average of 45 inbound customer calls per day during phone support rotations.
Maintain availability through a headset-based call routing system while balancing additional order-entry responsibilities.
Shipping, Inventory & ERP Management
Utilize QAD, Felix, CRM, and other business systems for quoting, order entry, inventory inquiries, and order tracking.
Monitor pricing agreements and inventory availability.
Coordinate shipping and routing requirements, selecting appropriate carriers and freight-payment methods.
Understand and apply shipping terms, including collect, prepaid, and third-party billing arrangements.
Documentation & Accuracy
Maintain detailed documentation and records to ensure continuity of service and support business decisions.
Verify ship-to locations, pricing, product specifications, and order details before submission.
Operate effectively in a paperless environment while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
Ensure accuracy in all transactions, recognizing the financial impact of order-entry errors.
QualificationsRequired Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of experience in manufacturing customer service, inside sales, or sales support.
Experience with order entry and customer account management in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
Strong product knowledge and ability to understand technical product information.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong mathematical aptitude, including working with fractions, decimals, and measurements.
Proven ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and maintain accuracy under pressure.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience using QAD ERP software.
Experience working with CRM systems and manufacturing-related software.
Experience supporting industrial, distribution, or power transmission products.

Schedule & Attendance Expectations
Standard schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM.
Reliability, punctuality, and consistent attendance are essential to success in this role.
Employees are expected to be at their workstation and ready to begin work at the start of each scheduled shift.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $28.00/hr.
