Job Summary

The Manager, Sales is a mid-level management role responsible for driving sales performance, customer growth, and revenue attainment within an assigned market, region, or product portfolio. This role leads sales teams to execute commercial strategies, manage customer relationships, and deliver results aligned with business objectives.

Role OverviewThe Manager, Sales leads sales operations for a defined territory, customer segment, or product line. The role develops and executes tactical and operational sales plans aligned with enterprise commercial strategy, with accountability for revenue, margin, and customer satisfaction.This position manages sales representatives or account managers and serves as a key advisor to commercial leadership on market dynamics, customer needs, and growth opportunities.The role typically reports to a Sales Director, Regional Sales Leader, or Commercial Leader.Key ResponsibilitiesSales Strategy Execution & Revenue PerformanceLead execution of sales strategies to achieve revenue, volume, and margin targetsTranslate commercial objectives into executable sales plans and account strategiesDrive disciplined pipeline management and forecasting accuracyCustomer & Account ManagementOversee management of key customer relationships and account portfoliosSupport negotiation of pricing, contracts, and commercial agreements within guidelinesEscalate and resolve customer issues impacting satisfaction, retention, or growthMarket & Business DevelopmentIdentify and pursue growth opportunities within assigned markets or segmentsMonitor market trends, competitive activity, and customer needsSupport new product launches and commercial initiatives within scopeCrossFunctional PartnershipPartner with Marketing, Product Management, Pricing, and Supply Chain to support gotomarket executionAlign sales activities with supply capabilities, pricing strategies, and promotional plansInfluence crossfunctional alignment on customer and market prioritiesPeople Leadership & Talent ManagementManage and develop sales team members through coaching, performance management, and development planningEstablish territory, account, and coverage plans aligned with growth objectivesProvide input and authority for hiring, promotion, and reward decisions in alignment with company guidelinesSales Process & Performance ManagementTrack and analyze key sales KPIs including revenue, margin, pipeline health, and customer performanceConduct regular sales reviews and performance coaching sessionsImplement best practices to improve sales effectiveness and consistencyCommunication & InfluenceCommunicate sales priorities, expectations, and results clearly to the sales team and leadershipPrepare and present sales performance updates, insights, and recommendationsInfluence adoption of disciplined sales processes and customerfocused behaviorsQualificationsEducation & ExperienceBachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or related field requiredMaster's degree preferredTypically 7 or more years of progressive experience in sales or commercial rolesPrior people management or sales leadership experience requiredKnowledge, Skills & AbilitiesStrong knowledge of sales processes, account management, and customer engagement practicesExperience leading revenue growth and managing custome
