The primary purpose of the position is to is to provide IT analysis to assess user needs and support the development, implementation, and maintenance of technology solutions that enhance the Department of Labor's operations. Major duties include but are not limited to the following: Participate in meetings and interviews with customers to understand their operational needs, conducting Tier 1 troubleshooting and providing remedies for common issues. Identify and resolve typical user problems, escalating more complex issues as necessary. Support the development of user interface elements, workflows, and application layouts by contributing research and draft designs and providing user feedback summaries. Help identify and document customer requirements needed to update existing applications or support the development of new solutions. Provide technical support to higher-graded IT Specialists in activities related to the planning, installation, maintenance, and management of networked systems. Assist in site planning and installation activities for computer and communications equipment, helping with tasks related to hardware cabling, server setup, and security requirements. Prepare and update required data inputs for established databases. Support the development of policies to govern IT activities and helps provide basic policy guidance to staff.
