Summary You will serve as a LEAD QUALITY ASSURANCE SPECIALIST (SHIPBUILDING) in the CONVERSION AND REPAIR DIVISION; QUALITY ASSURANCE DEPARTMENT of SUPSHIP. Responsibilities You will ensure that the organization's strategic plan, mission, vision and values are communicated to the team and integrated into the team's strategies, goals, objectives, work plans and work products and services. You will articulate and communicates to the team the assignment, project, problem to be solved, actionable events, milestones, and/or program issues under review, and deadlines and time frames for completion. You will be responsible for the execution of all QA program assessments, evaluations, audits trend analysis, and corrective actions associated with the assigned program functional area. You will be assigned the program functional area of Electrical/Electronics Fabrication/Installation/Testing. You will coach the team in the selection and application of appropriate problem-solving methods and techniques, provide advice on work methods, practices and procedures. You will lead the team in identifying, distributing and balancing workload and tasks among employees in accordance with established workflow, skill level and/or occupational specialization. You will plan, develop, organize, administer, evaluate, coordinate and implement a comprehensive Contract Quality Assurance Program (CQAP). You will ensure that the Contractor meets its responsibilities for product and process quality for the highly advanced ship construction, modernization and repair work executed by Newport News Shipbuilding. You will anticipate major problems, recognize future QA program needs, implement or recommend new or improved processes and procedures related to ship construction, and recommend changes to current QA program objectives. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing quality assurance work (e.g. electrical, electronic fabrication, installation, testing) to ensure responsibilities are met for product or process quality for ship construction.
