Job Description

As an Electrical Helper, you will work independently to perform basic installations, including running wire, installing outlets, switches, and lighting fixtures, setting boxes, and pulling wire through conduit to terminate circuits. Your role will involve reading and working off prints, understanding simple electrical blueprints, roughing-in based on layout, and performing device and circuit terminations.

Responsibilities

Run wire (Romex, MC, basic conduit runs) and install outlets, switches, and lighting fixtures.

Set boxes (metal/plastic) and make up devices.

Pull wire through conduit and terminate circuits.

Perform installation of conduit.

Read and work off electrical blueprints.

Understand what circuits feed what and rough-in based on layout.

Make up outlets, switches, breakers, and land wires in panel.

Identify neutral, grounds, and hots correctly.

Conduct rough-in work, drill, run wire, staple, and support runs.

Layout devices such as switches and receptacles.

Perform basic conduit work, including bending simple conduit 90s and offsets.

Run EMT for basic layouts and mount and secure conduit properly.

Understand safety and code basics, including lockout/tagout awareness and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.

Utilize power tools such as cordless impact guns/drills and maintain a tool belt with essential tools like pliers, wire strippers, screwdrivers, and utility knives.

Utilize measuring and layout tools such as tape measures and torpedo levels.

Adhere to basic electrical safety practices using non-contact voltage testers.

Essential Skills

Electrical wiring and conduit bending.

Pulling and running wire.

Installation of outlets, switches, and lighting fixtures.

Reading and interpreting blueprints.

Basic understanding of NEC and safety protocols.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

2+ years of commercial or residential construction experience.

Ownership of hand and power tools.

In-field experience.

Work Environment

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Allentown, PA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $35.00/hr.
