NOW HIRING: We are looking for a Manufacturing Methods Engineer to join our Transportation and Infrastructure Winsted team. The Manufacturing Methods Engineer is responsible for creating and maintaining accurate Bills of Material (BOMs), routings, and related part master data in Epicor ERP (and supporting tools such as Cadlink). This role also ensures the integrity of ERP part data and settings by interpreting complex part design specifications and Manufacturing Process Engineer inputs. By building accurate Methods of Manufacturing (MOM), this position guarantees that production systems reflect intended processes, directly driving operational accuracy and efficiency for the Transportation & Infrastructure (T&I) Business Unit.

As a Manufacturing Methods Engineer you will:
Manage BOMs and routings
Ensure data integrity standards
Translate drawings to production
Implement ECO/ECN updates
Drive cross-functional alignment
Own creation and maintenance of BOMs, routings, and part master data for Pole projects in Epicor ERP and related tools.
Create and maintain new and existing parts, BOMs, and routings in Epicor ERP based on engineering and drafting drawings, established standards, and changing manufacturing requirements.
Maintain part master attributes and supporting documentation required for planning, scheduling, inventory control, and shop floor execution.
Ensure data integrity and standards compliance through audits, corrections, disciplined change control, and support for validated mass updates.
Execute production drawing build packet processing by translating engineering drawings into production-ready documentation and creating new parts through established workflows.
Review Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and implement BOM and routing updates in a timely manner to prevent use of outdated versions.
Collaborate cross-functionally with Drafting, Engineering, Operations, Quality, and P&S to validate routings, resolve manufacturability and requirements issues, and communicate methods changes.
Document and maintain methods standards, work instructions, and training materials.
Support standardization and continuous improvement of methods processes, documentation, and workflow enhancements, including evaluation of tool capabilities as requested.
Role qualifications as a Manufacturing Methods Engineer:
Preferred candidates will have an engineering degree or equivalent and 3+ years' experience in a manufacturing environment supporting BOM and routing creation/maintenance in an ERP system. Other combinations of formal training and experience will be considered.
Experience creating and maintaining BOMs and routings; Epicor ERP experience is preferred.
Experience with Cadlink or similar CAD-to-manufacturing part definition tools is preferred.
Proficient knowledge in interpreting blueprints and mechanical drawings.
Working knowledge of metal fabrication processes, materials, and shop practices; able to translate drawings into buildable routings.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to data integrity and quality.
Comfortable utilizing computers; particularly working with spreadsheets, email, and ERP/production planning applications.
Ability to solve practical problems, apply standards, and make sound decisions within defined procedures.
Effective verbal and written communication skills; able to collaborate and influence cross-functional partners.
Ability to manage changing priorities and meet deadlines in a project-based manufacturing environment.
Ability and willingness to work occasionally on the production floor and comply with PPE requirements.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit/stand; talk or hear; and use hands to finger, handle, or touch objects or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand and walk short distances. On occasion, the employee may be required to stoop, bend, or reach above the shoulders. The role regularly requires collaboration with production and may include time on the production floor; while on the production floor, all employees are required to wear company-provided personal protective equipment (PPE).
