Job Description
The LEO Office of Human Resources is looking for a new team member! Come join a group of service minded individuals who support the many bureaus and activities within the Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity. This position will serve as the department's Reasonable Accommodation Coordinator (RAC), serve as a liaison with the Disability Management Office and assist the HR Director with special projects.
Ideal candidates will have:
A strong understanding of the laws related to accommodations, medical leaves and other related protections.
Ability to explore and consider accommodations for LEO employees and management that meet both operational requirements and provide an effective solution.
Ability to effectively analyze medical documentation, position descriptions and other relevant information when making decisions.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

This position will have the option for a hybrid schedule with remote work (up to three days per week) with two days a week in the Lansing office, typically Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Occasional travel or in person work on other days may be required.
Required Education and Experience
This position generally requires the education acquired through possession of a bachelor's degree in any major. Vacation and Sick Leave:Eligible full-time employees receive between15 and 35 personal daysand 13 sick daysper year that may be rolled over to the following year if not used. Eligible employees also receive an additional day each year for community service or school functions.
Paid Parental Leave:Eligible employees can take 12 weeks of paid leaveimmediately after a birth or adoption to allow needed time together at home with a new child.
Paid Holidays:Eligible employees receive 13 or 14 paid holidays each year including New Year's Eve and Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Presidents' Day, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, the Fourth of July, Labor Day, Election Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving, Thanksgiving Friday, Christmas Eve and Day.
Bonus Programs:Eligible employees with five years of service also receive annual longevity bonuses that grow as seniority increases. Some positions also may qualify for recruitment, retention, and performance bonuses or other special pay premiums.
Military Pay Differential:Employees in the guard or reserves may also qualify for supplemental pay benefits if miliary pay during qualifying duty is less than normal state pay.
