Job Title: Medical AssistantJob Description

As a Medical Assistant, you will play an integral role in ensuring smooth operations within a professional medical office setting. You will be responsible for patient intake, insurance verification, and supporting both front and back-office tasks, including managing prescriptions and lab orders on behalf of providers. This role requires flexibility, as you will handle a high volume of rooming patients and work closely with physicians daily. Strong communication skills are essential, particularly when working with the geriatric patient community, and you will assist with telehealth appointments utilizing E Clinical Works EMR System.

Responsibilities

Conduct patient intake and check-in procedures.

Perform insurance verifications efficiently.

Assist with front and back-office tasks, including managing prescriptions and lab orders.

Collaborate with patients, providers, pharmacies, and laboratories for patient orders.

Handle a high volume of patient rooming and work closely with physicians.

Maintain professionalism and provide excellent customer service.

Facilitate telehealth appointments and guide patients accordingly.

Utilize the EMR System E Clinical Works effectively.

Essential Skills

Medical Assistant Certificate REQUIRED

1-2 years of recent medical office experience

BLS and/or CPR certification

Knowledge of medical terminology and medications

Experience with EMR systems

Strong computer and communication skills

Proficiency in rooming patients and patient services

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience in urgent care, internal medicine, or similar settings

EKG knowledge

Strong phone etiquette and detail-oriented nature

Ability to fill prescription requests accurately

Work Environment

This role is situated in a high-volume medical clinic setting that supports pediatric, urgent care, adult care, and radiology services, with 17 doctors and over 250 patients seen daily. The office is located within a mile of several excellent dining options, fostering a welcoming and family-oriented culture. The team is tight-knit, and the environment is supportive, offering exposure to multi-specialty practices.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fountain Valley, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $23.00/hr.
