The purpose of the work unit is to provide support to the Oil and Public Safety programs including finance and budget; the Petroleum Storage Tank Fund (PSTF); the Petroleum Cleanup and Redevelopment Fund (PCRF); state-lead cleanups of petroleum contaminated sites utilizing Federal funds and PSTF funds; Amusement Rides and Devices, Explosives, Conveyance and Boiler programs; internal and external communication including Colorado Open Records Act (CORA) requests; enforcement of statutes and regulations across all programs; and the technology team including data management. The Amusement Rides and Devices Program oversees the operation of rides and devices operated by amusement operators. The program requires annual registration prior to operation to ensure that amusement rides and devices have received the required annual third-party inspections and obtained adequate insurance coverage in the event that an accident occurs.
The position provides technical and administrative support to the amusement ride regulatory program, Program Manager, Public Safety Manager, Audit Inspector, and industry stakeholders.
This position will:
Organizes, reviews, interprets and processes information received from applications and inspections based on regulations, adopted codes and standards.
Resumes, certifications and credentials are evaluated for approval of third party amusement device inspectors.
Documents are processed, edited, saved and organized electronically using a variety of different software applications.
Conduct reviews of submitted applications, inspection forms, and other documentation and determine if any deficiencies exist.
Prioritize work flow in a manner that best supports the staff and permit holders.
Communicate with the regulated community the tools that are needed to be compliant with our regulations and requirements needed to obtain permits.Listen to customer complaints, gather information, research the issue and determine what actions are necessary by the Division and/or the owner to mitigate the potential problem and ensure the safety of the public and workers. 7

Two (2) years of relevant experience in an occupation related to the work assigned to this position.
OR Education and Experience: A combination of related education and/or relevant experience in an occupation related to the work assigned equal to two (2) years
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience providing customer service: explaining processes, application/documentation review, and communication with stakeholders/clients.
Project experience, including the skills to: set, track, and accomplish priorities, goals, and timetables to achieve maximum productivity, knowing the status of activities at various stages in the process.
Preference given to applicants with experience in the amusement industry or related fields such as adventure attractions, family fun centers, resorts, or similar.
