Summary This Position is to ensure that supplies and material are distributed to all areas serviced by Logistics. Provides wards, clinics, operating rooms, secondary storage locations, and other hospital facilities with supplies and material including, sterile and non-sterile medical supplies, instruments sets, and equipment. Assignments include but are not limited to scanning, barcoding, receiving, storing, and the distribution of medical and surgical supplies, instruments, and other material. Responsibilities Duties to include but not limited to: Provides wards, clinics, operating rooms, secondary storage locations and other hospital facilities with supplies and material including, but not limited to, sterile and non-sterile medical supplies, instruments sets, and equipment. Utilizes computerized systems including bar-coding and automated inventory systems for the delivery and inventory control of supplies. Resolves differences between records and physical count of stock. Monitors expiration dates, rotates stock to limit outdates and removes items from use as required by outdates. Ensures critical supplies are appropriately monitored and controlled. Delivers supplies in a timely and accurate manner, ensures supplies and material are delivered in sterile and operational condition. Qualifications To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 06/23/2026. Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS 05 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS 04. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. You may qualify based on your experience and/or education as described below: Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS 04 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: providing supplies and material to clinical and administrative areas of a complex health care facility; scanning, bar-coding, receiving, storing and distributing medical and surgical supplies, instruments and other material; pulling stock, replenishing stock and maintaining records on stock levels; monitoring expiration dates; cleaning assigned areas in accordance with aseptic principles; utilizing an automated system to maintain inventory; and answers customer questions regarding supplies and materials. OR, Education: Applicants may substitute education for the required experience. To qualify based on education for this grade level you must have completed 4 years above high school in any field for which high school graduation or the equivalent is the normal prerequisite. This education was obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. If you are qualifying on education, transcripts are required. You must have an combination of specialized experience and education beyond 60 semester hours (2 years) is creditable. Physical Requirements: The work requires standing and walking during the entire workday, and frequent reaching, bending and lifting of supply packages (occasionally weighing as much as 50 pounds). Work requires pushing loaded carts of medical supplies (weighing in excess of 100+ pounds). With proper assistance, moves heavier items' weighing over 40 pounds.
