SUMMARY
Mechanical/Civil Project Engineers are responsible for the development, implementation, and administration of engineering changes to support safe and reliable plant operations. This role provides technical expertise, evaluates engineering solutions, and supports decision-making and problem resolution in collaboration with Operations, Maintenance, and Procurement personnel.
EDUCATION
Bachelor's degree in engineering or engineering technology. (Required).
EXPERIENCE
Engineering levels will be commensurate with the candidate's educational background, relevant technical experience (including engineering, maintenance, and operations), nuclear power experience, and overall qualifications.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for taking projects from conceptual phase through implementation.
Collaborate with Purchasing, Maintenance, Operations and Systems/Design Engineering.
Responsible for design, research, documentation maintenance, reliability and obsolescence improvements, and preparing, reviewing, and approving engineering documentation (e.g., specifications, analyses, drawings, evaluations, Engineering Change Packages, fault trees, and Plans of Action).
Provide guidance and assistance for complex troubleshooting of maintenance activities.
Prepares and reviews engineering evaluations for plant repairs/rework and conditions.
Prepares and reviews non-conforming or degraded component dispositions.
Evaluates the extent of the condition and its e?ect on the component's ability to perform the required design function including complex issues.
Reviews and evaluates vendor and industry documentation and event reports for relevant application to STP and identify appropriate corrective actions.
ENGINEERING OPERATIONS COORDINATION:
Performs duties of the Section Supervisor as delegated.
Provides Management level reports on speci?c tasks.
Prepares and reviews operability reviews of station problems or events; evaluate regulatory requirements for operability and submit written recommendations to Operations.
Manages the interface with other departments and regulatory agencies by leading meetings and discussions to provide speci?c information and analysis of questions and problems.
SPECIAL SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge of design, operations, maintenance, and testing, preferably nuclear power (Preferred but not required for entry level engineer/specialist).
Ability to read and interpret engineering documents and drawings.
HVAC and Chiller experience preferred.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
Accept Emergency Response Organization (ERO) position as needed.
Accept outage position as needed.
Ability to obtain and maintain unescorted access.
Successfully complete General Employee Training (GET) as required for position.
ENVIRONMENTAL & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Environmental and physical requirements are subject to crouching, stooping, bending, twisting and/or lifting up to 30 lbs.; ascending/descending stairs; sitting for extended periods of time; and spending considerable time in front of computer monitors.
Periodic, frequent ?eld inspections in a plant environment and in all kinds of weather conditions.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Overtime and alternate work schedules as needed.
Subject to callouts twenty-four hours per day seven days per week.
Travel may be required.
May be required to carry a phone
WORK LOCATION
Hybrid/Remote - Due to the nature of the work, this position provides the ability for a hybrid work schedule between Site and an alternate work location. Alternate work locations require adequate technology, and a solid ergonomic setup is present. Note: Work schedules are contingent on business need.
