Job Title: 2nd Shift Packer
Job Description
This role focuses on accurately filling, weighing, and packing liquid and powder products in a GMP food manufacturing environment on 2nd shift. You will train on 1st shift for a few weeks, then move to a 2nd shift schedule while working with production equipment, computer systems, and documentation to ensure products meet quality and safety standards. The position requires comfort with frequent overtime, attention to detail, and the ability to work safely around chemicals and food-grade materials.
Responsibilities
Use computer systems to enter, track, and manage production and packing documentation accurately.
Fill liquids and powders into tanks according to work order and manufacturing instructions.
Use scales to obtain precise measurements of liquids and raw materials, following formulas and recipes accurately.
Select the appropriate tank based on manufacturing requirements and batch size.
Pick required raw materials from the raw material warehouse according to the formula and work order.
Scan raw materials using a barcode scanner to verify lot numbers and quantities for accuracy and traceability.
Stage raw materials and add them to tanks in the correct sequence and quantities as outlined in work orders.
Operate forklifts and pallet jacks as needed to move products and materials safely around the production floor.
Fill and pack orders according to sales orders, ensuring accurate weights, correct sifter screens, and proper labels are used.
Handle written compounder materials and maintain accurate labeling and packing logs.
Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and all safety guidelines and procedures at all times.
Work safely around chemicals and food-grade materials, including using pumps, valves, air mixers, and related equipment.
Lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds as part of daily tasks.
Wear required personal protective equipment, including a respirator, and maintain a clean-shaven face to ensure proper fit.
Participate in cross-training and assist in different departments as needed to support production demands.
Support general warehouse activities such as loading, unloading, order picking, material handling, and packaging as required.
Essential Skills
Ability to work 2nd shift (2:00 p.m. - 12:30 a.m., Monday-Thursday) and train on 1st shift (4:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m., Monday-Thursday) for a few weeks.
Comfortable working a significant amount of overtime when needed.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
Experience working in a GMP food manufacturing or cleanroom environment.
Ability to work safely around chemicals and food-grade materials in compliance with GMP standards.
Proficiency using scales, pumps, valves, and air mixers in a production or warehouse setting.
Ability to operate forklifts and pallet jacks safely and effectively.
Basic computer skills, including the ability to use computer systems for documentation and handling written compounder materials.
Strong attention to detail, especially for labeling, packing logs, and verifying lot numbers and quantities.
Comfort wearing a respirator and ability to remain clean-shaven to ensure proper respirator fit.
Experience with warehouse activities such as loading, unloading, order picking, material handling, packaging, and production support.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Previous experience in food manufacturing, compounding, or chemical handling environments.
Familiarity with cleanroom practices in a food manufacturing setting.
Experience working under GMP guidelines in production or packaging operations.
Background in packaging, production, or warehouse roles involving order picking and unloading.
Ability to adapt to cross-training and support multiple departments as production needs change.

Work Environment
This position is based in a GMP-compliant food manufacturing environment that follows strict cleanliness, safety, and quality standards. You will work primarily on 2nd shift from 2:00 p.m. to 12:30 a.m., Monday through Thursday, after completing a training period on 1st shift from 4:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The role involves frequent overtime, working around chemicals and food-grade materials, and operating equipment such as scales, pumps, valves, air mixers, forklifts, and pallet jacks. The facility emphasizes adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices and safety procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment. A respirator is required for certain tasks, and you must remain clean-shaven to ensure a proper respirator fit. The environment includes typical warehouse and production activities such as loading, unloading, order picking, material handling, and packaging within a controlled, food-safe setting.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $22.00/hr.
