The Honeywell, Process Technology, LNG Product Line designs and manufactures specialized Coil Wound Heat Exchangers. The equipment is designed by our engineering organization and fabricated at our manufacturing facility in Port Manatee, FL. Our customers use this equipment to liquefy natural gas, massively improving its transportability as an energy source for users around the world.
The Manufacturing Engineer is primarily responsible for translating engineering drawings into comprehensive manufacturing methods and production orders for each project they are assigned. During the execution of the work, they will spend sufficient time on the shop floor working with technicians and production supervision to ensure the production plan is safe and as efficient possible.
The goal is for the production orders to be detailed enough that any employee will be able to complete the work detailed with minimal supervision. This position works closely with the mechanical design engineering, project management, production control, and production operations to ensure appropriate response to questions, while maintaining a focus on schedule commitments
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop manufacturing plans for the products built at the Port Manatee FL Plant. These manufacturing plans include work breakdown structures, bills of materials, and manufacturing routings. The routing includes operation details, planned hours, tooling requirements, special processes and lessons learned from past projects.
Work with all plant functions to ensure manufacturing plans will produce products in a safe and efficient manner.
Interface with plant functions and off-site engineering departments to coordinate variation notices, engineering changes and resolve complex issues.
Perform cost analysis for open and completed production orders.
Standard Method (SM) creation, review, revision. These documents provide detailed work instructions to shop floor production technicians or are Standard operating procedures. The level of detail contained in these documents is above and beyond that which is found in typical production orders.
Work with Production Technicians & Supervisors to document work processes, product knowledge, and best practices which will be used to create and update the Standard methods.
Investigate, develop, and evaluate standard method improvements, production equipment needs, and other manufacturing changes required to keep the Port Manatee Plant competitive with other equipment manufacturers.
Review and update Definitive Estimate Modules on all assemblies upon receipt of transmittal drawings. Update input parameters to adjust to any changes the drawings reflect vs the Original Estimate. Report any changes that exceed 10% of the original estimate to Cost Estimating and Project Engineering.
Create and develop detailed Scopes of work for 3 rd party External Operations. When required, to assure that the Vendor understands the correct process to machine or fabricate a component to our drawing/weld specifications.

YOU MUST HAVE
Candidates must be able to work in a positive & productive manner with all departments.
Candidates must be familiar with technical drawings.
Candidates must have ERP skills and Excel skills. Experience developing databases (Access or Sequel Server) is a plus.
Experience with SAP in an engineer-to-order metals fabrication environment is strongly preferred.
Candidates must have good communication skills and the ability to take on increasing responsibilities.
WE VALUE
Industrial Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Degree
Minimum 5 years of industrial experience. This experience must include familiarity with bills of materials and routings using an ERP system.
