Manufacturing Engineer
Location: New Market, VA

Position Summary
The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for supporting and improving manufacturing operations through process development, product implementation, continuous improvement initiatives, and technical project management. This position works closely with Production, Quality, Engineering, Supply Chain, and external partners to optimize manufacturing processes, improve operational efficiency, reduce costs, and ensure product quality.
The successful candidate will drive process improvements, support new product introductions, lead product transfer projects, and implement best practices to enhance overall manufacturing performance.
Key Responsibilities
Support manufacturing operations through process development, optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Analyze production processes and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, quality, throughput, and cost performance.
Lead product transfer projects, including planning, coordination, implementation, and validation activities.
Develop and implement manufacturing methods, tooling, and process improvements to support production requirements.
Manage technical aspects of customer and internal projects, ensuring requirements, specifications, and deliverables are clearly defined and executed.
Program and support CNC equipment and manufacturing systems a plus.
Create and maintain engineering drawings, process documentation, work instructions, and manufacturing specifications.
Collaborate with customers, suppliers, and cross-functional teams to develop innovative manufacturing solutions.
Conduct process studies and capability analyses to improve manufacturing performance and product quality.
Support new product introduction (NPI) activities, including process development, qualification, and production readiness.
Drive initiatives to improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), reduce cycle times, and eliminate waste.
Apply Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, 5S, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) methodologies.
Evaluate and implement new technologies, equipment, tooling, and manufacturing processes.
Work with suppliers on technical and commercial matters related to manufacturing projects and process improvements.
Maintain engineering records and documentation in accordance with company quality and document control procedures.
Support quality system requirements and continuous improvement efforts across manufacturing operations.
Participate in safety initiatives and promote a culture of operational excellence.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field.
3-5 years of manufacturing engineering, process engineering, or industrial engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
Experience supporting machining, metalworking, tooling, or precision manufacturing operations.
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, 5S, FMEA, Root Cause Analysis, and Continuous Improvement methodologies.
Experience with process optimization, cost reduction, and operational excellence initiatives.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and manufacturing documentation.
Strong project management and organizational skills.
Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Experience working with ERP systems such as SAP or similar manufacturing systems.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
Experience with AutoCAD, CAD/CAM software, or other engineering design tools.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with CNC machining, tooling, or metalworking processes a plus.
Knowledge of production planning, manufacturing systems, and process validation.
Experience supporting product launches, product transfers, or facility expansions.
Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
Experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery, noise, and industrial equipment.
Ability to walk production floors and support manufacturing operations as needed.
Occasional lifting, bending, and standing may be required.
Ability to travel occasionally to suppliers, customers, or other manufacturing locations if required.
