Description

Robert Half is seeking a highly organized and experienced Litigation Legal Assistant to support a busy employment/insurance law practice. This role will support up to four attorneys and requires strong litigation experience, including NY/NJ e-filing.

Location: On-site (5 days/week) in Madison, New Jersey

Schedule: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM EST (35-hour work week)

Pay Rate: $28-$32/hour

Duration: 2+ months

Key Responsibilities

Draft, transcribe, edit, and proofread legal documents and correspondence

Manage attorney calendars, including scheduling depositions, hearings, and meetings

Maintain docketing deadlines and ensure timely filings

Prepare, review, and electronically file documents in NJ and NY courts

Handle time entry, billing, and invoice preparation (pre-bills, edits, and finalization)

Maintain and organize case files (electronic and hard copy)

Process incoming/outgoing mail, including certified and overnight deliveries

Respond professionally to client calls and correspondence

Prepare and submit expense reports and credit card reconciliations

Requirements

Qualifications

5-7 years of legal assistant experience within a law firm (litigation required)

Strong knowledge of legal terminology, litigation procedures, and court rules

Experience with NJ/NY e-filing systems (required)

Advanced Microsoft Word and Outlook skills (track changes, formatting, TOA/TOC via Best Authority)

Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat (Bates stamping, redactions, document conversion)

Experience with SurePoint and NetDocuments (preferred)

Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines

Strong written and verbal communication skills

High level of professionalism, discretion, and attention to detail

Education

Minimum of a 2-year college degree required
