GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
This position is eligible for a $2,000 Hiring Bonus
At the Wyoming Life Resource Center (WLRC) , we help people with disabilities live their best lives. This is an exceptional opportunity for a Registered Nurse to shape the future of direct care in Wyoming.
In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for the development, instruction, oversight, and management of our Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) program. Your primary focus will be on facilitating curriculum, instructing students in knowledge and clinical skills to pass the Wyoming CNA licensing exam, and facilitating clinical rotations and skills labs. You will also monitor and support existing CNAs to ensure ongoing competency. WLRC currently serves Wyoming residents in an Intermediate Care and Skilled Nursing facility.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The listed functions are illustrative only and are not intended to describe every function that may be performed at the job level.
Lead the development, implementation, and ongoing facilitation of the CNA training program at the Wyoming Life Resource Center (WLRC).
Collaborate with the Director of Nursing and nursing management to ensure all training and continuing education meet or exceed standards set by the Wyoming State Board of Nursing and the Wyoming Nurse Practice Act.
Keep abreast of the latest nursing practice standards, as well as Intermediate Care Facility (ICF) and Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) standards, policies, and protocols.
Assist with the development of WLRC policies and procedures for implementing specific programs and orient new staff to these programs.
Contribute to the development of relevant nursing protocols to enhance clinical care and produce teaching materials for both groups and individuals.
Assist the Director of Nursing, Infection Preventionist, and Nurse Educator with special projects or teaching commitments as requested.
Deliver dynamic instruction based on the curriculum to equip students with the knowledge and clinical skills required to pass the Wyoming CNA licensing exam.
Facilitate comprehensive clinical rotations and skills labs to effectively evaluate CNA competency.
Provide direct monitoring and support to existing CNAs in their work areas to ensure ongoing competency of knowledge and skills.
Provide a stimulating environment that encourages student participation, interpersonal skills development, and key concepts of high-quality patient care.
Evaluate students' progress thoroughly through testing, observation, and assessment of acquired skills.
Maintain accurate records for all students, including attendance, schedules, and course requirements for instructional hours and content.
Ensure effective communication with students and all personnel affiliated with the course.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE:
Comprehensive knowledge of principles of nursing and management processes.
In-depth knowledge of ICF and SNF regulations, the Wyoming Nurse Practice Act, and WLRC state and facility policies and procedures.
Proficiency in developing nursing plans of care utilizing the nursing process.
Knowledge of principles and practices of public health nursing.
Knowledge of, and ability to competently operate medical equipment.
Demonstrated skills in training, teaching, and interpretation of information.
Proven skills in creating a supportive, stimulating, and effective learning environment.
Ability to communicate positively and effectively with students, staff, residents, and the public.
Skills in time management, organization, and computer usage.
Knowledge of organization, planning, and team building.
Ability to accept personal responsibility and accountability for decision-making on a daily basis.
Ability to work effectively with and around WLRC residents, including those who may display challenging behaviors.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
Bachelor's Degree (typically in Nursing)
Experience:
1-2 years of progressive work experience (typically in Nursing) with acquired knowledge at the level of a Nurse
OR
Education & Experience Substitution:
4-6 years of progressive work experience (typically in Nursing) with acquired knowledge at the level of a Nurse
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Must be licensed or eligible for licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Wyoming
Necessary Special Requirements
PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
Must be able to:
Safely move (twisting, bending, kneeling, pushing, pulling), position, and lift people with multiple and severe disabilities.
Monitor residents' sounds, noises, and locations to ensure safety and assess imminent danger and emerging concerns.
Perform C.P.R., First Aid, Crisis Management, and utilize proper infection control practices.
Work evenings, nights, and /or weekends when the situation requires it.

The Wyoming Life Resource Center participates in E-Verify.
