Job Description

An aerospace company is looking for a Precision Grinder who will operate precision grinding machines to produce parts according to established blueprint and engineering specifications.

Job Description:

Perform setup, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of CNC and manual ID/OD grinding machines

Interpret blueprints and engineering specifications, including GD&T requirements

Use specialized inspection tools (profilometers, air gauges, laser micrometers, etc.) to verify cylindricity, surface finish, and tolerances

Adjust machine settings, offsets, and tooling to maintain precision and process control

Dress and modify grinding wheels, tooling, and fixturing as needed

Select feeds, speeds, and grinding media to achieve required results

Perform in-process inspections and complete required documentation for traceability

Troubleshoot complex grinding issues and collaborate with engineering to improve processes

Support development of new processes, tooling, and routings

Assist in training junior team members and provide technical guidance as needed

Skills and Requirements

1 - 5 years of experience with precision grinding

Experience working in a machine shop enviroment

Understanding of GD&T

Experience with cylindrical or centerless grinding

Inside Diameter/Outside Diameter grinding

High School Diploma or GED - Studer S20, Outside Diameter grind machine experience
