GRIFFIN CAMPUS

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in an appropriate area of specialization and One (1) year of coaching experience at the high school level or above OR Three (3) years of experience as a varsity or professional player or coach.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Collegiate coaching experience preferred. Recruiting experience. Experience in prevention and care of athletic injuries desired.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Ensure the effective teaching and instruction of all specific technical skill areas to student-athletes

· Coach student-athletes in their growth and development in the sport with techniques and fundamentals of their position and sport conditioning

· Develop team and individual strategies to have the greatest chance of winning within the sport, through on-court/field teaching and video instruction

· Design instructional programs for the team and individual student athletes and instruct student athletes on how to implement a game plan as determined for each competition

· Travel to events and evaluate potential student-athlete talent, correspond with all prospects via email, phone, face to face conversations, etc.

· Complete all necessary Compliance and Institutional documentation as required

· Recruit student-athletes who meet SCTC academic and athletic standards

· Responsible for direct supervision of assistant coaches, all staff disciplinary actions, and any other personnel management duties as required to maintain a successful staff

· Responsible for overall performance of athletes' academic progress by working closely with the CAPS Center

· Work with the NJCAA Compliance Office to make sure programs and student-athletes are complying with all guidelines and regulations regarding compliance issues

· Responsible for successfully managing an annual budget including all necessary fiscal planning

· Promote the program to the public including, media, donors, the College community and the public to increase visibility and revenues for the program

· Management of sport budget

· Maintain a competitive schedule that will allow the team to prepare and compete successfully in the conference, as well as, in post-season play

· Requires significant influence and communication with executive leadership

COMPETENCIES:

· Ability to stand for extended periods

· Knowledge of the rules, regulations, strategies, and techniques of soccer

· Knowledge of team management

· Coaching techniques and skills

· Leadership skills and skills in interpersonal relations and conflict resolution

· Skill in the delegation of responsibility and authority

· Oral and written communication skills

· Decision-making and problem-solving skills and ability to multi-task Southern Crescent Technical College

· Knowledge of and ability to follow college policies and procedures, GCAA, and, NJCAA

· Knowledge of current and developing trends utilized for recruitment

· Knowledge of local demographics and best practices to target varied publics within the service delivery

SALARY :

This is a part-time position without insurance benefits; work hours will not exceed 29 per week. Hourly rate is commensurate with education and work experience.
