Supply Chain Lead
Supply Chain Lead- Muscatine, IA
As the Supply Chain Lead - Muscatine, IA, you focus on the execution of end-to-end supply chain activities to ensure timely and efficient delivery of products; This includes coordinating logistics, managing inventory, and overseeing transportation processes in close collaboration with vendors and internal teams to optimize workflows and address operational challenges; In this role, you are responsible for overseeing supply chain activities at the Muscatine site, from sourcing raw materials to delivering finished products, including planning, purchasing, warehousing, transport, order management, master data, and service provider management for Active Ingredient Manufacturing, Formulation, and Packaging; You advise a team responsible for supply planning and logistics in a complex environment of more than 180,000 MT of production, delivering more than 150 SKUs of finished goods on time to market while meeting inventory targets; You advise production to meet market demands and customer orders, balancing flexibility and cost efficiency to improve overall business performance and customer satisfaction.
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary responsibilities of this role, Supply Chain Lead (Muscatine, IA.,) are to:
Serve as the advisor for the supply chain squad and organize 90-day working cycles to set goals and establish KPIs aligned with customer requirements and company policies and strategies;
Deliver an efficient, cost-competitive, and state-of-the-art supply chain that ensures high-quality production in full compliance with safety and legal regulations, overseeing physical material flows and storage for all materials at the Muscatine site (including raw materials, packaging, intermediates, waste, finished goods, cargo, and containers) and their risk management processes;
Validate production planning and allocation across Muscatine production units and evaluate, adjust, and coordinate detailed planning for suppliers and tollers;
Oversee planning and on-time purchasing of raw materials, packaging, and logistics services, partnering with procurement, transportation, and product supply teams to support activities, resolve issues, and develop optimization concepts for sourcing and logistics;
Lead the inventory management strategy at the site, including relevant master data and processes for inventory control and production planning;
Collaborate with accounting and controlling to ensure compliance with company management accounting and IFRS requirements;
Drive Product Supply System (onePSS) implementation and continuous improvement activities to enhance process efficiency and optimize costs;
Execute budgeting for the supply chain squad, track cost elements, and drive effective cost management programs;
Represent the Muscatine site in external meetings with global, regional, and local teams as the Supply Chain Subject Matter Expert (SME).
WHO YOU ARE
Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:
Required Qualifications:
BA/BS or higher in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, Economics, or a manufacturing-relevant discipline (such as chemistry or engineering.)
Preferred Qualifications:
Seven years of experience in supply chain management, logistics, or related plant manufacturing operations;
Two years of project management experience;
Excellent knowledge of production scheduling in large-scale chemical manufacturing plants;
Strong technical knowledge in process improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma) and a strong VACC skill set;
Demonstrated innovative mindset with a passion for process and organizational improvements and self-motivation to identify and promote new ideas that improve the team;
Proven interpersonal competencies, including coaching and development, with the ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently and work effectively in a team environment as both leader/facilitator and team member;
Strong proficiency in SAP and MS Office applications, with the ability to analyze different scenarios, solve problems, and demonstrate sound decision-making capacity;
Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively and promptly with all levels of the organization, supporting department objectives and management decisions, and to represent the Muscatine site in external meetings with global, regional, or local teams as the Supply Chain SME.

Employees can expect to be paid a salary between $143,840.00- $215,760.00. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant).
