Summary This position is located in the Office of Behavioral Intervention (OBI) within CSOSA. OBI oversees a complex array of evidence-based assessments, evaluations, and cognitive behavior interventions, as well as innovative practices, and case management services that collectively are designed to mitigate recidivism risk factors, quickly match offenders to appropriate services, and sustain positive change throughout the offender's supervision lifecycle and continuum of care. Responsibilities Leads group-based domestic violence intervention programming using evidence-based models and ensures consistent, high-quality facilitation for individuals under supervision. Conducts assessments and evaluations of individuals involved in domestic violence cases to determine risk levels, treatment needs, and appropriate intervention strategies. Manages an assigned caseload by monitoring compliance with program requirements, documenting progress, and coordinating services that support behavioral change and accountability. Provides guidance and consultation to staff, multidisciplinary teams, and community partners on domestic violence intervention practices and case considerations. Supports agency domestic-violence-related initiatives and collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to strengthen service delivery, outreach, and coordinated responses. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications BASIC ENTRY QUALIFICATION: A. Successful completion of a full four-year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a bachelor's or higher degree in the behavioral or social sciences, or in a related discipline that included at least 24 semester/36 quarter hours in the behavioral or social sciences. OR B. Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. OR C. Combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. ADDITIONAL EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT: In addition to meeting the basic entry qualification requirement, applicants must have specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as facilitating evidence-based domestic violence or cognitive-behavioral interventions for high-risk offenders and adapting strategies to address resistance or co-occurring issues; managing complex domestic violence cases, conducting advanced risk assessments, and making recommendations that guide intervention and supervision decisions; and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams and community partners to address offender needs, evaluate intervention outcomes, and recommend improvements to enhance program effectiveness and victim safety. Licensure Requirement: To qualify for this position, applicants must possess a current licensure or certification to practice independently in the social services field. This includes Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW), Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or comparable certification in a social science discipline such as psychology or social work. Licensure must be current at the time of application and maintained throughout employment. Time-in-Grade: Current or former federal employees who have held a GS position in the preceding 52 weeks, must meet the time in grade requirement.
