Summary You will serve as an ELECTRONICS TECHNICIAN in the FLEET READINESS CENTER SOUTHEAST FST DEPT, FST ENGINEERING DIV of FLTREADCEN SOUTHEAST. Responsibilities You will provide technical services as needed in support of local calibration requirements You will determine and review calibration procedures and standards to ensure accuracy and proper traceability to NIST standards You will review, investigate, and determine the need to issue for local compliance for engineering directives originated by the NAVAIR METCAL program. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications GS-09 LEVEL consideration: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following duties: Calibrating automatic test equipment, test sets and fixtures for all manner of electronics, optics, hydraulics and mechanical aviation systems. Following ICPs (Instrument Calibration Procedures) and/or LCPs (Local Calibration Procedures) to calibrate TMDE (Test, Measurement and Diagnostic Equipment), annotating OOTs (Out of Tolerances) as necessary. Participating in OEM training events for new calibration standards. Performing calibration bench tests for ICP drafts. GS-11 LEVEL consideration: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following duties: Writing calibration support procedures (ICPs or LCP) for various @types of TMDE. Providing Metrology expertise in support of a calibration laboratory to trouble-shoot calibration standards and/or problematic calibrations. Assisting in Standard Modernization projects by providing input and drafting deliverables for said projects. Completing testing, evaluating data, and determining acceptability of equipment modifications, validity, test procedures and data, or legality of operation. Technicians support professional engineers in performing experiments, research, and developmental activities requiring an in-depth knowledge of technical engineering methods, applications, practices, and principles to work on concepts, proto@types, and experimental projects that are without precedent and support state-of-the-art research. Sustainment - Developing, performing, evaluating, or modifying calibration and test equipment, systems, and procedures. Reporting, analyzing, and archiving test data. Performing complex calculations and manipulations of test data to improve performance of systems, instrumentation, measurement standards, techniques, and procedures. Troubleshooting - Analyzing and diagnosing faults in the operational configuration of electronic systems and equipment. Interpreting circuit wiring, logic cable diagrams, drawings, specifications, and schematics of complete systems and equipment to understand the function and interconnections of the various assemblies and troubleshoot the system.
