Summary You will serve as a Fire Fighter (Paramedic) of NAS JAX. Responsibilities You will provide advanced life support. You will deliver medical aid to the sick and/or injured patient. You will conduct a methodical patient assessment/physical exam and determine the nature, extent, and seriousness of the patient's condition. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-08 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) controlling or extinguishing advanced fires involving structures, aircraft, and other complex hazards as a member of an organized fire department; 2) performing advanced rescue operations including vehicle extrication and confined space rescue; 3) providing Advanced Life Support (ALS) as a nationally registered Paramedic; 4) operating fire apparatus and communications equipment during emergency incidents; 5) controlling and mitigating complex hazardous materials incidents; and/or 6) participating in ongoing training in advanced firefighting, rescue, and emergency medical techniques. This position requires the incumbent to possess the following certifications: Firefighter I and II, Airport Firefighter, HAZMAT Technician. Also requires National Registry Emergency Medical Technician Paramedic (NREMTP).
