Job Title: Accounting Manager - SAP S/4HANA Implementation
Job Description
This Accounting Manager role supports a major SAP S/4HANA system transformation and focuses on either general accounting and BlackLine processes or group reporting and consolidation. The position combines deep accounting expertise with hands-on ERP implementation work, including UAT, cutover, and post-go-live hypercare, to ensure a smooth transition and strong ongoing support for the finance function.
Responsibilities
Serve as a key finance representative on the SAP S/4HANA implementation project, ensuring that accounting requirements are accurately captured and delivered.
Focus on S/4HANA general accounting, reporting, and BlackLine journal entry processes, or on S/4HANA Group Reporting, including consolidation, intercompany activity, and financial reporting in Workiva.
Support and execute User Acceptance Testing (UAT), including developing test scripts, executing tests, tracking issues, and validating results across SAP S/4HANA and related systems.
Create, update, and maintain clear process documentation, including standard operating procedures (SOPs), workflows, control narratives, and internal control documentation.
Coordinate and support cutover planning and execution, including data validation and readiness activities to ensure a smooth and accurate go-live.
Develop and deliver training materials and conduct training sessions for finance and accounting end users to support adoption of the new ERP system.
Provide hypercare support after go-live, troubleshooting issues, resolving defects, and helping stabilize new processes and systems.
Collaborate closely with Accounting, IT, project teams, consultants, and other business stakeholders to ensure alignment and successful implementation outcomes.
Identify and recommend opportunities to improve processes, internal controls, and system utilization within the new ERP environment.
Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and applicable regulatory requirements throughout the implementation and ongoing operations.
Manage and prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced, transformation-driven environment while working independently as needed.
Leverage strong knowledge of core accounting processes, including general ledger, balance sheet, reconciliations, month-end close, journal entries, and financial reporting, to guide system design and testing.
Essential Skills
Strong SAP experience with a clear preference for SAP S/4HANA, including hands-on implementation work.
Proven ERP implementation experience, including participation in UAT, cutover, and post-go-live hypercare support.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
5-8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including management responsibility.
