The Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Maine seeks highly qualified applicants for its Academic, Administrative, and Financial Coordinator position.
This position is supervised by the Chair of Mechanical Engineering and will be responsible for facilitating academic affairs, supporting the administrative functions, and handling the internal financial matters within the department. This is a full-time (40 hours, 5 days per week) salaried position. Normal daily work hours at UMaine are Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. A few activities, e.g., outreach, student recruitment, graduation, annual retreat, may fall on weekends or extend beyond the regularly scheduled work hours. Typical hiring range for this position is $50,000 to $55,700 commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Qualifications:
Required:
A bachelor's degree.
Five or more years of academic and/or administrative experience.
Detailed knowledge of accounting, budget analysis and preparation.
Experience with financial reporting software, Microsoft Office, and Google Workspace applications.
Preferred:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to prioritize workload with excellent time management and follow through skills.
Demonstrated experience working independently as well as collaboratively as a member of a team in a professional setting.
Exceptional interpersonal skills and proven experience working effectively with a diverse group of constituents on campus and throughout the state and region.
Good follow-through in communication regarding the status and completion of tasks.
Ability to exercise sound judgement and discretion in handling sensitive matters.
Proven attention to detail and focus on accuracy.
Familiarity with UMaine MaineStreet, InfoSilem, UMaine financial software applications (Payroll, General Ledger, Marketplace, and SAP Concur), and financial & payroll procedures.
