This role focuses on the design and analysis of electrical systems for building and infrastructure projects, including power distribution, low-voltage systems, and lighting. The Electrical Design Engineer develops detailed design documents, supports construction activities, and collaborates closely with internal teams and clients. Responsibilities
Design power distribution systems, including development of riser diagrams and panel schedules.
Develop low voltage infrastructure designs for IT and security systems.
Design lighting systems, including fixture selection, lighting controls, and performing lighting calculations.
Design and coordinate low-voltage systems such as fire alarm, security, and control systems.
Calculate electrical loads, fault current, and voltage drop to ensure safe and efficient system performance.
Perform field surveys to gather existing conditions and verify installation requirements.
Provide construction phase support, including responding to contractor questions and reviewing field conditions.
Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) design teams to ensure integrated project solutions.
Use design tools such as Revit to produce accurate and coordinated electrical design documents.
Communicate effectively with clients and project stakeholders to understand requirements and provide technical guidance.
Contribute to capital expenditure projects across multiple states as part of an on-call engineering team.
Support high-profile client projects as one of a small team of dedicated electrical engineers.
Essential Skills
7+ years of electrical design experience in building or infrastructure projects.
Demonstrated experience with MEP design and coordination.
Proficiency in electrical design, including power distribution, lighting, and low-voltage systems.
Experience using Revit for electrical design and documentation.
Engineer-In-Training (EIT) or Engineer Intern (EI) certification.
Strong teamwork skills with the ability to collaborate in a dynamic, team-oriented environment.
Effective communication skills for working with clients and internal stakeholders.
Strong client relationship skills with a focus on service and responsiveness.
Solid organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience supporting construction phase activities, including field surveys and site verification.
Background in designing low-voltage systems such as fire alarm, security, and controls.
Experience performing electrical calculations, including load calculations, fault current, and voltage drop.
Familiarity with capital expenditure project work across multiple locations or states.
Ability to adapt to changing project priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Interest in working within a small, close-knit engineering team.
Willingness to relocate, with relocation packages available for the right candidate.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $55.00/hr.
