Job Title: B Shift Backshop Associate
Job Description
The B Shift Backshop Associate supports high-volume operations by running polishing equipment, performing hydro testing, and handling warehouse activities such as order picking, packing, labeling, and staging shipments. This role plays a critical part in keeping production running smoothly by ensuring customer orders are processed accurately and on time in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
Run ID/OD polishing equipment safely and efficiently to meet production requirements.
Perform air underwater hydro testing according to established procedures and quality standards.
Operate, or be willing to learn to operate, forklifts to move materials and products throughout the facility.
Print customer orders according to scheduled time and date to ensure on-time processing.
Pick customer orders accurately and prepare them for packing and shipment.
Pack shipments in accordance with specific customer requirements to ensure accuracy and protection of goods.
Label customer packages clearly and correctly to support accurate shipping and delivery.
Stage and consolidate customer shipments when applicable to optimize loading and transportation.
Perform finished goods inventory cycle counts to maintain accurate stock records.
Replenish inventory in storage racks as needed to support continuous production and order fulfillment.
Assist shipment loaders with organizing, staging, and loading outbound shipments.
Become forklift certified and operate forklifts in a safe, effective, and compliant manner.
Maintain a high level of productivity in a fast-paced, high-volume environment to support continuous mill operations.
Follow all safety, quality, and operational procedures to support a safe and efficient workplace.
Essential Skills
6 months to 1 year of warehouse or manufacturing experience.
Experience with general labor and warehouse production tasks.
Order picking experience in a fast-paced environment.
Forklift operating experience or strong willingness to learn and become certified.
Experience using RF scanners for inventory and order processing.
Material handling experience in an industrial or warehouse setting.
Ability to safely operate a sit-down forklift after training and certification.
Capability to work B shift hours (Monday to Thursday, 5:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.).
Ability to perform repetitive physical tasks and stand for extended periods in a production environment.
Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate picking, packing, labeling, and inventory counts.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Previous experience in a non-union manufacturing or warehouse environment.
Comfort working with industrial equipment such as polishers and testing machinery.
Willingness to complete a training period of approximately 3 to 6 months to learn all backshop processes.
Strong communication skills to coordinate with team members and supervisors.
Reliability and consistent attendance to support high-volume operations.
Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced production setting.

Work Environment
This role is on B shift, working Monday through Thursday from 5:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m., offering a consistent four-day workweek. You will complete a training period of approximately 3 to 6 months before working independently, ensuring you are fully prepared for all backshop responsibilities. The facility has roughly 100 employees spread over four shifts and operates as a non-union shop. The workplace emphasizes safety and friendliness, with a strong focus on maintaining a secure and supportive environment. You will work in a production and warehouse setting that uses equipment such as ID/OD polishers, hydro testing equipment, forklifts, and RF scanners. The environment is fast paced and high volume, requiring you to stay active throughout the shift and follow all safety and operational guidelines.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
