Summary You will serve as an Archivist in the Archives Branch of NAVAL HISTORY AND HERITAGE COMMAND. Responsibilities You will be responsible for the collection, maintenance, and reporting of information pertaining to the official records and archival collections. You will assist in determining processes, policies, and procedures for accessioning official records and personal papers collections. You will ensure the accuracy of the data in the collections management database. You will ensure that appropriate materials are preserved and all accession activities are properly documented. You will compile metrics on the collections for use in official reports and data calls. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications For the GS-12 level: In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector as a professional archivist work with appraising, accessioning, arranging, describing, preserving, publishing or providing reference service from public records and historic documents. Examples of specialized experience may include the following: 1. Establishing and maintaining an accurate inventory of archives using a variety of electronic record-keeping systems; 2. Developing guidelines regarding formatting and data entry protocols to be consistently used in the archives' collections management database; 3. Collecting, maintaining, and reporting information pertaining to the official records and archival collection; 4. Formulating, maintaining, and implementing archives' policies and procedures pertaining to acquisitions, accessioning, deaccessioning, collections management, and other collections accountability processes.
