Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized part-time Legal Administrative Assistant to support our legal and compliance functions over a six-month period. This role is ideal for a strong multi-tasker with excellent communication and analytical skills who is eager to learn and be trained on government regulations. You will play a key role in evaluating compliance requests, issuing certifications, and providing administrative support to ensure regulatory standards are met. The position offers the potential to transition to an internal employee role after the contract period.
Responsibilities
Review and evaluate compliance requests to ensure they meet applicable regulatory standards.
Prepare, process, and issue compliance certifications based on completed evaluations.
Provide comprehensive administrative support to the legal team, including organizing and maintaining files, records, and documentation.
Draft, format, and review legal documents, legal correspondence, and basic legal contracts under guidance.
Maintain accurate compliance documentation and ensure records are complete, organized, and easily retrievable.
Liaise with various internal departments to gather information needed to assess compliance requests.
Communicate clearly and professionally via email, messaging tools, and other office-@type communication channels to ensure alignment on regulatory requirements.
Participate in training sessions to learn and stay current on relevant regulations and compliance standards.
Apply critical analysis to compliance-related data and variables to support sound decision-making.
Use Google Sheets, spreadsheets, and other office tools to track, report, and update compliance and legal administrative data.
Assist with filing, claims-related documentation, and general office tasks as needed to support legal and compliance operations.
Support the preparation of reports and summaries related to regulatory compliance activities.
Skills and Qualifications Required
?Bachelor's degree is preferred.
Prior experience in legal administration, legal support, or legal office environments is an asset.
Experience with compliance, regulatory compliance, or compliance documentation is a plus.
Familiarity with legal contracts and legal document management is advantageous.
Experience preparing or supporting filing and claim-related documentation is beneficial.
Ability to adapt quickly to new systems, processes, and regulatory training.
Interest in growing within a legal or compliance-focused administrative role, with potential for longer-term internal employment.
Work Environment
This is a part-time contract position for approximately six months, with an anticipated schedule of about 20 hours per week. The schedule offers flexibility, with the option to work either four days per week at five hours per day or five days per week at four hours per day. You will work in an office-style environment that relies on digital tools such as Google Workspace, Google Sheets, Microsoft Word, Excel, and other office software for communication, documentation, and reporting. The role involves regular office-@type communications, written correspondence, and interaction with multiple departments in a professional setting. The environment supports learning and training on regulations, providing opportunities to build skills in legal administration and regulatory compliance, with the potential to transition into an internal employee role after the contract period.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr.
