This position is eligible for hybrid telework. Employees living within 50 miles of the office will be required to work in the office at least 50% of the time each month. Employees may reside outside the state of Minnesota if they live in a state bordering Minnesota and are within 50 miles of the primary work location.
Existing employees who were approved to telework from a bordering state and more than 50 miles from their work location before June 1, 2025, may retain this arrangement unless they move further away.
This position's location is being posted as either Roseville, MN or Fergus Falls, MN. Both options are available.
This is an opportunity to work for a small agency that helps nonprofit organizations successfully use lawful gambling to raise money for their charitable purposes. The Minnesota Gambling Control Board regulates the $4.5 billion lawful gambling industry ensuring the integrity of charitable gambling operations and the lawful use of charities' net profits.
This position in the Regulatory Unit performs professional level regulatory analysis, resolution and technical assistance for licensed organizations and their permitted premises where charitable gambling is conducted under the supervision of senior specialists. The duties include performing analysis of organization records and gambling equipment at permitted sites to determine compliance with statute and rule. This position will analyze and evaluate organization record keeping, internal control systems, financial records related to games in play and lawful gambling activity. They will prepare communications regarding permitted premises records inclusive of findings, facts and corrective action recommendations. They will also provide accurate technical assistance so that clients are informed regarding applicable statutes, rules and policies.
Minimum Qualifications
At least (2) two years work experience with primary responsibilities in the area of either regulatory licensing, accounting, public administration, regulatory compliance, or a closely related regulation field requiring problem solving, accounting skills, and analytic expertise.

Experience must include:
Ability to compare and analyzing data against agency/company standards by creating or utilizing reports and agency/company metrics.
Ability to apply, interpret, and explain regulations, statutes, rules, policy, and procedures.
Demonstrated ability to communicate with internal and external stakeholders both verbally and in written form by either offering training, creating correspondence materials, responding to written/verbal inquiries.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of lawful gambling rules and regulations in the State of Minnesota.
Knowledge of public sector regulatory licensing, permits, and/or authorizations to qualified applicants seeking a license.
Ability to apply, interpret and explain regulations (statutes, rules, policy, and procedures) to internal, company/agency and non-regulatory, external stakeholders.
Ability to develop and present training materials and procedures to a variety of in person/classroom groups.
Physical Requirements
This position requires an unrestricted Class D Driver's License with a clear driving record.
