Summary of the Job:
The Marketing Strategy Manager leads a team responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive marketing strategies that drive customer acquisition, engagement, and retention throughout the customer lifecycle. This role provides strategic direction and people leadership to ensure integrated marketing plans are aligned to business objectives and deliver specific customer behaviors and growth targets. The manager oversees team development, ensures cross-functional alignment with Performance Marketing, Product, and Vertical teams, and guides the strategic planning process that optimizes marketing performance across all channels while maintaining profitability. This position is accountable for building and developing talent, managing team performance, and ensuring successful execution of campaign strategy, offer development, and performance analytics. By fostering a culture of data-driven decision making and strategic excellence, this manager enables their team to continually refine marketing approaches based on market insights and financial outcomes while supporting FNBO's business objectives.
About This Role:
People Leadership & Team Development
Lead, coach, and develop a team of marketing strategists, creating a high-performance culture focused on strategic thinking, collaboration, and measurable results
Conduct performance management activities including goal setting, ongoing feedback, performance reviews, and career development planning
Build team capabilities through strategic hiring, onboarding, training, and continuous skill development in marketing strategy, analytics, and customer lifecycle management
Foster cross-team collaboration and knowledge sharing to drive innovation and best practice adoption
Strategic Direction & Portfolio Leadership
Define overall marketing strategy vision and roadmap aligned with business objectives and partner needs
Oversee portfolio of marketing initiatives across customer acquisition, engagement, and retention, ensuring integrated approach and optimal resource allocation
Guide team in defining desired customer behaviors that drive growth and address key business challenges
Ensure strategic plans balance short-term performance targets with long-term sustainable growth
Business & Market Intelligence Leadership
Maintain division-level understanding of business objectives, market dynamics, competitive landscape, and product portfolio
Champion insights-driven approach by ensuring team leverages customer data, competitive analysis, and market trends
Stay current on marketing strategy trends, emerging best practices, and industry innovations
Translate complex business challenges into actionable marketing strategies and clear team direction
Cross-Functional Partnership & Collaboration
Build and maintain strong partnerships with Performance Marketing, Product, Vertical teams, and senior leadership
Lead strategic discussions and provide expert guidance to executives on customer acquisition, engagement, and retention strategies
Navigate complex stakeholder environments and drive alignment across diverse teams around common objectives
Represent marketing strategy in leadership forums, business planning sessions, and strategic initiatives
Financial Accountability & Performance Management
Establish KPIs and measurement frameworks to track acquisition, engagement, retention, and profitability metrics
Drive continuous optimization based on performance data, testing insights, and financial outcomes
Ensure marketing strategies align with profitability goals and optimize spend efficiency across channels
Operational Excellence & Process Leadership
Establish team workflows, governance structures, and quality standards for marketing strategy development
Ensure marketing product hierarchy alignment and campaign coordination across systems
Drive efficiency through process improvement, standardization, and scalable practices
Manage team capacity planning and prioritization in fast-paced environment with competing demands and multiple stakeholders
Offer Strategy & Campaign Excellence
Provide strategic oversight for offer development, promotional constructs, and campaign strategy
Guide team's approach to acquisition funnel optimization and conversion efficiency improvement
Foster culture of testing, learning, and continuous improvement to enhance marketing effectiveness
Ensure creative execution through Performance Marketing partnership delivers on strategic intent

Change Management & Agility - Experienced at driving organizational change, navigating ambiguity, and helping teams adapt quickly in dynamic, fast-paced environments
The Ideal Candidate for This Role:
Minimum Qualifications:
Required:
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field
10+ years of progressive experience in marketing with focus on strategy development, customer acquisition, or lifecycle marketing
5+ years of people management experience, including leading and developing marketing teams
Demonstrated success in driving business strategy through analytics, data-driven insights, and defined outcomes
Proven experience partnering with and advising executives and senior leaders on marketing strategy, customer acquisition, and retention
Strong track record of managing complex, cross-functional initiatives and delivering results in fast-paced environments
Ability to balance strategic vision with operational execution across multiple priorities and stakeholders
Up to 20% travel
Desired:
Master's degree in Marketing, Business, or related field
Experience working in financial services, credit card, or related industries
Background in performance marketing, digital marketing, or marketing technology platforms
Experience with marketing analytics tools, CRM systems, and data visualization platforms
Candidates must possess unrestricted work authorization and not require future sponsorship.
Compensation:
Compensation range (base pay): $124,231.00-$211,194.00
This role may have a specific starting pay within this range.
Final compensation offer to candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon work experience, education, and/or skill level.
