Quality Assurance Manager

Position Summary: The Quality Assurance Manager will serve as a key leader in maintaining and advancing the organization's quality management systems and regulatory compliance programs. This hands-on role requires a proactive individual who can balance strategic quality system improvements with day-to-day operational oversight. The ideal candidate thrives in a dynamic, team-oriented environment where wearing multiple hats and taking initiative are essential to success.

Essential Duties:

Partner with Research & Development, Supply Chain, Operations, and other departments to establish and refine processes that ensure ongoing compliance with current and evolving food safety regulations.

Lead the enhancement and optimization of quality management systems, identifying opportunities for process improvement and implementing sustainable solutions.

Develop and facilitate comprehensive training programs for production associates and cross-functional team members on quality protocols, food safety requirements, and GMP standards.

Evaluate and verify quality documentation for accuracy, completeness, and regulatory alignment including production records, specifications, and testing reports.

Coordinate and participate in internal compliance assessments and serve in a leadership capacity during third-party certification audits and regulatory inspections.

Direct root cause investigations for quality deviations, non-conformances, and process failures using structured problem-solving methodologies.

Manage the corrective and preventive action system, ensuring timely implementation, verification, and effectiveness validation of all CAPA initiatives.

Oversee data collection, trend analysis, and statistical evaluation to support quality decision-making and identify improvement opportunities.

Required Qualifications:

Must be Bilingual in Spanish & English.

Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline (Microbiology, Chemistry, Biology, Food Science) or related field; candidates with strong technical backgrounds in other scientific areas will be considered.

Minimum 2 years of management or supervisory experience in a quality assurance or food safety role.

Demonstrated experience developing and implementing HACCP plans from concept through validation.

Proven capability managing audit processes, corrective actions, preventive measures, data analysis, and validation activities.

Previous experience in food manufacturing or ingredient production environments required.

Preferred Qualifications:

SQF Practitioner certification or equivalent GFSI credential.

PCQI (Preventive Controls Qualified Individual) or HACCP certification.

Experience with specialty food ingredients, color additives, or confectionery manufacturing.
