Description We are looking for an experienced Sr. Accountant to support key accounting operations for a growing organization in Worcester, Massachusetts. This Long-term Contract position will play an important role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting timely close activities, and preparing reliable reporting for leadership. The ideal candidate brings strong general ledger expertise, sound reconciliation skills, and the ability to manage detailed accounting assignments in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

Lead core close activities by preparing and reviewing entries, validating balances, and helping ensure an accurate month-end process.

Maintain the general ledger by recording financial activity correctly and resolving discrepancies in a timely manner.

Perform detailed account reconciliations to support the accuracy and completeness of financial statements.

Complete bank reconciliations regularly and investigate variances to ensure proper cash reporting.

Assist with financial reporting deliverables by compiling schedules, analyzing results, and supporting reporting deadlines.

Contribute to special accounting projects and provide additional support for priority initiatives as needed. Requirements - Demonstrated experience in senior-level accounting work with ownership of month-end close responsibilities.

Strong working knowledge of general ledger accounting and journal entry preparation.

Proven ability to complete account reconciliations with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

Experience handling bank reconciliations and researching outstanding items or variances.

Ability to support financial reporting activities and work effectively within established deadlines.

Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills in an accounting environment that values attention to detail.
