The Program Assistant works as a member of the Medical Administration Service and is responsible for the overall planning, coordination, implementation, management, and evaluation of the clinical applications of VetLink, Secure Messaging. Knowledgeable of the overall facility and network goals, missions, and priorities to ensure that all applicable programs do not adversely impact other programs or resources. Awareness of management discussions, decisions, and policy making concerning these vital electronic resources; consults and advises their Supervisor and Service Chief on all related matters. Responsible for specific action item reports assigned by the MAS Supervisor related to other areas of MAS. Facilitates communication across service lines within the facility to achieve maximum fulfillment of Vetlink and Secure Messaging program goals and objectives. Collaborates with the Supervisory MeAssisdical Administration Specialist, Communication Specialist, Deputy Chief MAS and the Chief MAS on updates, changes and implementation of the MAS Sharepoint and MAS Dashboard. Serves as a technical consultant for all aspects of their use, including facilitating Vetlink and Secure Messaging staff training, pilot testing and implementing new long-distance care models and multi-site coordination and problem resolution.
