About the role:
This role brings content strategy to life across digital and omnichannel campaigns that support both branded and unbranded initiatives, with a strong focus on HerniaInfo.com, BD's direct-to-patient marketing, and the BD hernia portfolio. Sitting within the Surgery Business Unit on the AR&R Digital Marketing team, this position offers hands-on involvement in content creation, website optimization, social media support, and cross-functional execution. It's an exciting opportunity to gain exposure to patient education, SEO, regulated healthcare marketing, and MLR-driven workflows, while contributing across the full content development lifecycle in a highly collaborative environment.
Key responsibilities include:
Content Creation
Draft, edit, and proofread content for websites, social media, email, and campaign assets under the direction of the Sr. Manager, Content Marketing.
Translate clinical and product information into clear, patient-friendly and action-oriented content aligned to BD brand and compliance standards.
Support development of creative briefs, content outlines, and assets-including reviewing and maintaining Figma templates and partnering with designers to ensure consistent, on brand execution.
Help implement SEO and AI-era content best practices (e.g., keyword updates, on page optimization, schema/content tagging, internal linking) and utilize tools such as Semrush to identify opportunities.
Stay current on evolving content marketing trends and agency best practices (e.g., channel/platform updates, content formats, measurement approaches) and proactively recommend improvements to workflows and output.
Social Media & Community Engagement
Manage the social content calendar, create and schedule posts, and monitor comments, questions, and community interactions for HerniaInfo social channels in alignment with governance guidelines.
Partner with analytics to gather performance data, surface insights, and support reporting to grow social reach and engagement.
Digital Platform Management & MarTech Enablement
Maintain and update content within CMS platforms (e.g., AEM) following established governance, accessibility, and editorial standards.
Support ongoing updates to HerniaInfo.com and branded DTP sites, including page builds, content refreshes, metadata updates, QA, and post-launch monitoring.
Build working knowledge and day-to-day operational proficiency in BD's MarTech stack: Marketo, ClickUp, Optimizely, Knack, AME, and Figma, to help run and scale content marketing execution.
Project Coordination & Operations
Support execution of integrated campaigns by coordinating timelines, deliverables, and content needs across teams, managing project management tools to ensure timelines are met.
Collaborate with product marketing, digital, UX, MLR, PR, legal/regulatory, and agency partners to keep content moving through drafting, review, approvals, and launch.
Assist in preparing content for MLR (medical, legal, and regulatory) submission and governing approval workflows; track status, versioning, and required documentation.
Maintain organized content libraries, version control, and documentation, ensuring all content adheres to brand, editorial, accessibility, and compliance standards.
Assist in managing editorial calendars, content roadmaps, and prioritization frameworks; remain nimble as priorities shift and new business needs emerge.
Demonstrate ownership of learning the BD way of marketing, including regulated healthcare requirements, internal processes, and stakeholder expectations, and apply learnings to continuously improve execution quality and speed.
