Summary The primary purpose of the position is to provide support and feedback to the Privacy and CBI program in areas of leadership and strategic direction ensuring that all employees of the medical center adhere to all legal, regulatory and policy requirements that apply in the business/clinical arena. This involves oversight to ensure the medical center exercises due diligence and remains compliant with all applicable regulations and policies. Responsibilities Major duties include but is not limited to: Conducts VHA Central Office (VHACO), VISN and any facility specific audits as mandated utilizing established guidelines, standard operating procedures and compliance audit tools. Identifies through direct observation, datamining, and verbal reports various program deficiencies or gridlocks. Forecasts and estimates program requirements and prepares programmatic reports, graphs, statistical and narrative data in standard format for presentations and briefings. Maintains a project tracking system for assigned or self-initiated projects which include documentation of all aspects of the assigned project. Conducts and coordinates investigations, research or special studies, reviews and audits at the facility at the request of the Privacy Officer, Compliance and Business Integrity Officer or facility Executive Leadership. Conducts internal reviews of Privacy and CBI operations, policies and practices using Privacy and CBI program self-assessment tools, check lists, standards, etc. to ensure alignment with VHA Privacy and CBI program requirements. Develops, analyze, process and advise on auditing activities to identify areas of material weaknesses in business/clinical operations, administrative processes and revenue cycle activities. OR, Education: To qualify based on education for this grade level you must have successful completion of three (3) years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. degree or Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree that provided the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the Auditor position. Degree: in related fields such as auditing or a degree in a related field such as business administration, finance, public administration or accounting.
