Summary You will serve as an Aircraft Examiner (Progressman) in the MRO Production Department and Production Lines Division of FLEET READINESS CENTER SOUTHWEST. Responsibilities You will perform examination, evaluation, and repair of aircraft integrated systems and major subsystems, subassemblies and structural components. You will review aircraft logbooks, customer requests, flight crew discrepancies, mandatory removal requirements and special configuration records. You will determine the depth, breadth of rework, repair, and processing by authorizing repairs. You will inspect, test, diagnose, trouble shoot, and repair assigned aircraft performed individually or by other shop personnel. You will provide technical advice and recommendations to customers regarding examination and evaluation results. You will ensure the product meets technical specifications. You will take steps to resolve problems by determining the cause, finding solutions, and taking corrective action. You will accomplish other duties assigned. The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO INSPECT: 1) Conducting examinations and evaluations of assigned aircraft integrated systems and subsystems, subassemblies, and structural components; (2) Directing aircraft system repairs using the latest specifications, engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical manuals; (3) Demonstrating working knowledge of major aircraft platforms to troubleshoot discrepancies, diagnose system malfunctions, and perform testing and repairs on aircraft systems and components; (5) Inspecting and certifying aircraft as safe for flight in accordance with trade and agency guidelines; (6) Interfacing with supervisor to assist in coordinating workforce requirements in accordance with production priorities; (8) Ensuring work documentation and maintenance books are created, catalogued, assigned, and issued properly; (9) Providing technical leadership to guide shop artisans or other personnel on compliance expectations and required work actions; (10) Inspecting and certifying aircraft as safe for flight, while ensuring adherence to regulatory, trade, and agency standards; and (11) Communicating, orally and in writing, with higher authorities on a variety of technical and program-related issues.
