Overview
Responsible to the Logistics Manager for the daily routine of researching, validating, initiating requisitions and daily correspondence/reports. Must be capable of performing requisitioning/procuring, inventory control, storing, packaging, shipping, receiving, and cataloging required material in the support of aircraft operations. The individual will be required to attend meetings and conferences as necessary.
Daily duties include requisitioning and processing both consumable and repairable parts and materials. Include shipping, issuing and stocking (repairable and consumable) components, parts and material.
Possess a good working knowledge of material ordering, receiving, shipping, inventory control, and storage procedures utilized in an aircraft parts environment. Must have a working knowledge of computer operation and related office equipment. Must have a knowledge of aviation tools, supplies and supply system and the ability to understand and read supply and aircraft publications.
Must be customer oriented.
Must hold valid Driver's License
Major Job Activities
Description:
Enters data into computerized systems for the requisition of parts and uploads requisition status.
Processes repairable parts for intermediate level maintenance repair, cross-site repair, and to external repair facilities.
Issues, receives, inspects, inventories, transports, segregates, stores, distributes, turns-in, ships, and delivers incoming and outgoing material in a timely manner.
Ensures materials received has proper documents, certificate of conformance, ready for issue tags, bills of lading, engineering investigation documents, and other documents with contracts, purchase orders, or other requisitions to verify accuracy of stock identification, quantity, costs, condition, and other pertinent data.
Updates records, receipts, and other applicable documents as necessary by use of data processing equipment.
Researches parts substitutions, next higher assemblies, and aircraft configuration applications.
Submits Beyond Economical Repair (BER) and Beyond Physical Repair (BPR) components for disposition to government agencies.
Coordinates with program procurement and other responsible entities to ensure the timely purchase of parts, material and equipment.
Updates computer systems with parts issues, receipts, or transfers to destination points.
Manages pre-expended bin stock to sustain aircraft maintenance.
Maintains and protects electronic sensitive parts.
Researches and processes warranty items, initiates claim and tracks information electronically.
Prepares, maintains, files, and completes forms, records, reports, logs, and other related documents in accordance with applicable technical publications and other directives as required. Maintains stock records, inventory records and other applicable documents to create an audit trail.
Compiles and maintains records of quantity, @type, and value of material, equipment, or supplies stocked in facility. Conducts physical inventories of material in possession.
Performs daily office tasks such as filing, recording, copying, posting, typing, and answering phones.
Prepares and maintains a functional file system.
Maintains the cleanliness of the work area.
Comply with established general and industrial safety rules and regulations as applicable to the contract, facilities and job assignment.
Work and communicate with internal and external clients and customers to meet their needs in a polite, courteous, and cooperative manner. Committed to quality service.
Perform other related duties as required. May be required to perform duties of lower classified employees within the line of progression when assigned.

Working Environment
The diversity of work conditions may range from an office environment where there is little or no physical discomfort to a flight line environment where inclement weather may subject the individual to severe changes in temperature, wind, rain, etc. May be required to work in areas where high noise hazards prevail. May be exposed to fumes, airborne particles, and electrical shock hazards
Physical Activities
This classification activity is usually accomplished in an office environment and as such requires the scope of physical movements and postures normally associated with these activities. Typical physical demands or activities include climbing, standing, bending, pushing, kneeling, stretching, walking, and sometimes working in cramped or awkward positions. May be required to lift objects whose weight normally will not exceed 50 pounds.
Qualifications
Education / Certifications:
Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
Experience:
Preferred to have four (4) years within the last six years experience in automated inventory control of parts, materials and equipment management and property management functions. SAP preferred.
Skills & Technology Used:
Preferred to have completed formal training conducted by the U.S. Navy or Armed Forces equivalent, or training courses conducted by industry or civilian institutions or have a minimum of one (1) year experience in aviation maintenance or supply.
Must have thorough knowledge of the packaging, storage, shipment and transfer of property and supplies.
Preferred to have thorough knowledge on Navy property accountability procedures, forms, and records.
Preferred to have working knowledge of the U.S. Navy supply system pertaining to aircraft parts, components, materials, and applicable maintenance/technical publications.
Must be able to read, interpret and follow technical manuals, directives, oral and written instructions, and other applicable data.
Must have knowledge of elementary arithmetic: addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication.
Must be familiar with general office concepts, practices, and procedures.
Must be computer literate and be able to @type at a rate of 20 words per minute.
