Xylem is hiring a Rental Sales Representative to represent our legacy Godwin brand. The Sales Rep is responsible for driving rental growth for Godwin pumps, bypass systems, and related dewatering solutions within an assigned territory. This role focuses on developing and executing sales strategies that expand the customer base, increase rental revenue, and strengthen long-term customer relationships across municipal, industrial, construction, and emergency response markets.
The representative identifies new opportunities, manages existing accounts, and works closely with operations and service teams to deliver responsive, reliable rental solutions that meet customer needs. Success in this role requires strong commercial acumen, excellent communication and negotiation skills, and the ability to independently manage a territory while delivering results in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
Sales
Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, contractors, municipalities, and industrial accounts
Promote and sellGodwin rental pump systems, accessories, bypass setups, and temporary pumping solutions
Identify and pursue new business opportunities in dewatering, sewer bypass, stormwater control, emergency pumping, and industrial applications
Meet and exceed rental revenue, margin, and activity targets
Partner with branch operations and service teams to ensure timely delivery, setup, and support of rental equipment
Conduct site visits to assess customer needs and recommend appropriate Godwin rental solutions
Prepare quotes, proposals, and rental recommendations based on application requirements
Customer Service
Serve as a trusted advisor to customers by responding quickly to inquiries and project needs
Resolve customer concerns and coordinate with internal teams to provide effective solutions
Ensure a high-quality customer experience throughout the rental lifecycle
Support customers during urgent and emergency pumping situations with speed and professionalism
Territory and Business Development
Analyze market activity, competitor presence, and customer trends to uncover growth opportunities
Develop territory plans focused on increasing market share for Godwin rental offerings
Build relationships with engineers, plant personnel, superintendents, project managers, and purchasing teams
Maintain a healthy opportunity pipeline and document activity in CRM systems
Represent Godwin at customer meetings, job sites, industry events, and networking opportunities
Inventory and Equipment Coordination
Maintain awareness of available rental fleet, equipment status, and utilization
Coordinate with operations teams on equipment availability, movement, and customer delivery schedules
Support accurate tracking of pump rentals, accessories, hoses, fuel tanks, and related assets
Collaborate on fleet needs based on customer demand and market trends
Contract Management
Prepare and manage rental contracts, quotations, and supporting documentation
Ensure all rental agreements are accurate, complete, and aligned with pricing and terms
Coordinate deposits, billing requirements, extensions, modifications, and rental closeouts
Support contract compliance and proper documentation of customer agreements
Administrative Tasks
Maintain accurate customer records, opportunity updates, and sales activity in CRM tools such as Salesforce
Generate reports on sales activity, account development, pipeline status, and territory performance
Assist with forecasting, account planning, and branch communication
Complete administrative responsibilities in a timely and organized manner
Safety and Maintenance
Promote a strong safety culture in all customer and job site interactions
Ensure rental solutions are presented and deployed with attention to safe operating practices
Communicate safety guidelines and equipment usage expectations to customers
Work with service and operations teams to ensure equipment is maintained and ready for rental
Support compliance with company and customer safety requirements

Qualifications:
Sales experience-2 years of sales experience, or equivalent work experience providing exposure to core business principles. Bachelor's Degree preferred
Proven experience inrental sales, outside sales, business development, or territory sales, preferably in pumps, industrial equipment, construction equipment, or related markets
Familiarity withGodwin pump applications, dewatering, bypass pumping, temporary pumping systems, or fluid handling solutionspreferred
Strong proficiency in CRM and business management software such as Salesforce
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and opportunity assessment skills
Excellent communication, relationship-building, and negotiation abilities
Demonstrated ability to identify and convert business opportunities into revenue
Salary:
The estimated salary range for this position is $80,000 to $100,000 plus bonus. Starting pay is dependent on multiple factors, such as skills, experience and work location, and is not typically at the top of the range.
