The C2BMC Next Program, based in Colorado Springs, CO, is seeking a system administrator to provide first line of defense for user level interactions and issues in the X-Lab.
Your primary responsibilities will be responsible for supporting users in person, secure phone, email or instant message (IM).
Responsibilities include customer-facing, so refined customer service skills, in addition to IT skills, are a must for this position.
You must be comfortable with diagnosing and troubleshooting issues with remote users daily.
This position will also support MDA flight tests and focus on the integration of the R&D systems into C2BMC and will contribute to other ongoing X-Lab projects as needed.
As a System Administrator, you will work independently or with a small group and be flexible in a highly dynamic and ever-changing environment.
This position is located full-time on Schriever SFB and is not a remote work position. A small amount of travel may be required. Occasional off-hours work may be required.
What You Will Do:
Experience or equivalent wide application of principles, theories, and concepts in their field and provides solutions to a wide range of difficult problems with imaginative and thorough solutions
Works under general direction, and results are reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectives; failure to achieve results normally results in serious program delays and considerable expenditure of resources
Frequent internal and external customer contacts and represents the organization in providing solutions to difficult technical issues associated with specific projects.
What You Will Learn:
Domain account creation (along with restricted security group add abilities). User password resets, User VOiP troubleshooting.
Application installations and troubleshooting for users. User thin client troubleshooting.
Work with active directory team and compliance/patching admins to work through updating processes and procedures.
RedHat 7/8/9 administrative experience in an enterprise environment.
Windows 10/11 administrative experience in an enterprise environment.
Software development with Java (or other object-oriented language).
Qualifications You Must Have:
Experience with Java. Comfortable with interfacing professionally with users and customers in an IT service @type setting.
Ability to write and edit technical documentation of processes/procedures in solutions such as Atlassian Confluence. Experience developing enterprise applications on Linux.
Strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to review performance and operational issues, identify root cause, recommend, design and implement a solution.
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience.
IAT2 (Security+ or equivalent) required with 60 days of start.
Active and transferable Secret U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date
Qualifications We Prefer:
Command and control system application development - Previous experience with message translation software Automated test and pipeline development experience
Proficiency in Project Management Tools: Experience using Microsoft Project, Jira, or similar platforms for scheduling, task management, and tracking project progress.
Agile Methodology Expertise: Strong understanding and application of Agile methodologies, including SCRUM, for iterative development and team collaboration.
Risk Management: Skilled in identifying potential risks, developing mitigation strategies, and implementing proactive solutions to ensure project success.
Requirements Management: Experience in decomposing, prioritizing, and managing technical and functional requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
Cross-Functional Leadership: Proven ability to collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, ensuring alignment across engineering, operations, and program leadership to achieve objectives.

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
