Job Description:
GDIT is seeking a motivated Jr. Applications Specialist to provide business process and technical support for business solutions used by functional departments across the organization. This role supports a portfolio of solutions delivered through both SaaS and on-premises deployment models, enhancing business productivity, and user satisfaction.
The ideal candidate will support application, manage service requests, and collaborate with business stakeholders, vendors, and internal IT teams to resolve incidents and implement enhancements. You will help maintain application stability, support upgrades and releases, document processes, and contribute to continuous improvements.
This position is well suited for early-career professionals looking to build hands-on experience with enterprise systems, business workflows, and IT service management practices in a dynamic environment.
MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT
Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 support for enterprise business applications (SaaS and on-prem)
Assist with evaluating and resolving application requests, incidents, escalations, and user-reported issues
Support integrations, data transfers, and business processing
Provide support to Operation Leads for business applications
Identify and support continuous process improvement and AI adoption
Support data analysis, engineering, and visualization support (e.g., Excel, SQL, Power BI, etc.)
Coordinate with vendors and cross-functional teams
Maintain documentation and knowledge base articles
Assist with testing, deployments, and release activities
Assessing, clarifying, and documenting business requirements and processes
Deliver excellent customer service to business users
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
Bring your technology expertise and drive for innovation to GDIT. The Jr. Applications Support Engineer must have:
Education: Bachelor's degree required
2+ years of experience in application support, production support, or systems support roles
Hands-on experience supporting SaaS applications and on-premises enterprise business applications
Understanding of application architectures, including client/server and web-based systems
Experience with application integrations including secure FTP and APIs
Familiarity with SaaS platforms, cloud-hosted applications, and native cloud services
Strong understanding of incident, problem, and change management processes
Ability to work with business users, vendors, and internal technical teams
Strong documentation, communication, issue resolution, and customer service skills
Experience working in regulated or enterprise environments
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical issues to non-technical stakeholders
Ability to participate in on-call rotations and provide after-hours support when required
Strong problems solving skills and ability to work independently

The likely salary range for this position is $73,965 - $85,100. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.

GDIT typically provides new employees with 15 days of paid leave per calendar year to be used for vacations, personal business, and illness and an additional 10 paid holidays per year. Paid leave and paid holidays are prorated based on the employee's date of hire. The GDIT Paid Family Leave program provides a total of up to 160 hours of paid leave in a rolling 12 month period for eligible employees.
