Description We are looking for a meticulous and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team on a long-term contract in Yuba City, California. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in ensuring the accuracy of financial records and supporting the year-end close process. This position offers an excellent opportunity to apply your accounting expertise in a collaborative and results-driven environment.

Responsibilities:

Perform detailed bank reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy and compliance.

Review and analyze general ledger accounts to identify and resolve discrepancies.

Prepare and post journal entries, maintaining proper documentation and adherence to accounting standards.

Assist with the month-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.

Conduct manual reconciliations and double-check financial data for accuracy and completeness.

Support the year-end closing activities, working closely with internal teams to meet deadlines.

Collaborate with auditors and provide necessary documentation to facilitate audits.

Maintain organized and accurate financial records for reporting and compliance purposes.

Identify opportunities for process improvements within financial operations.

Provide ad hoc financial analysis and reporting as needed. Requirements - Proven experience in accounting, including bank reconciliations and general ledger management.

Strong knowledge of preparing and posting journal entries.

Familiarity with month-end and year-end close processes.

Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in financial data.

Proficiency in accounting software and tools, with the ability to adapt to new systems.

Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently.

Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and auditors.

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
