Our work depends on a Product Systems Engineer Sr. Principal - Lead joining our team to support federal Indian Health Service (IHS) Electronic Health Record (EHR) modernization program activities. As a Product Systems Engineer Sr. Principal - Lead supporting the IHS EHR program, you will be trusted to manage a variety of topics and efforts to ensure the success of our customer.
This position is fully remote, US BASED. This role requires you to obtain and maintain an in-depth Public Trust Level 5. This investigation will review personal and criminal behavior, financial conduct, foreign influence, as well as other adjudications.
HOW A PRODUCT SYSTEMS ENGINEER SR. PRINCIPAL - LEAD WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:
Lead and grow a Product Systems Engineering team in the broader program Engineering organization tasked with collecting and implementing requirements to meet customer and program objectives
Support Deployment team efforts in implementing Oracle Health (Cerner) solutions across multiple IHS facilities over extended period of time
Support Sustainment team efforts in ensuring existing IHS facilities are operational, current in technology, and able to adopt additional product capabilities, among other tasks
Partner with Infrastructure, Cloud Hosting, and Cybersecurity internal and customer teams where such focus areas intersect
Understand and manage technical design of other GDIT-managed systems, providing senior technical leadership across product systems and engineering activities
Identify systems architecture patterns that align with FedRAMP controls and enterprise standards, document system @context diagrams, sequence diagrams, and data flow diagrams
Collaborate with cybersecurity to ensure alignment with NIST CSF, NIST 800-53, PPSM, and agency policies; collect artifacts for ATO approvals
Understand, document and lead across teams to deploy Disaster Recovery and Continuity of Operations (COOP) activities with cloud hosting partner
Lead efforts to understand, document and implement policies and processes for system-to-system connections management, including Ports, Protocols and Service Management (PPSM) policies and associated documentation
Participate in cross-functional teams tasked with implementing new or emerging vendor (chiefly Oracle Health) capabilities, or greenfield initiatives
Understand and effectively communicating technical status to various stakeholders
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
Experience with Oracle Health (Cerner) Millennium EHR software suite
Bachelor's degree or 10+ years of equivalent work experience
Ability to lead a technical team of 3-6 employees
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and achieve successful outcomes
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Level 5 clearance. This includes a background verification and fingerprinting.
Ability to travel 25% of the year, if needed
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
Experience deploying/operating in FedRAMP-authorized environments
Familiarity with NIST Cybersecurity Framework, NIST 800-53, and agency-specific overlays.
Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) design/operations experience (networking, IAM, policies, compartments)
Exposure to healthcare interoperability (e.g., HL7 v2, FHIR, CCD/C-CDA, IHE profiles).
Experience with PPSM policy enforcement and documentation
Background in Disaster Recovery/COOP planning and execution for mission systems.
Prior Federal health experience (e.g., VA/DoD EHR, HHS agencies)
Ability to communicate and interact effectively with internal/external teams including key stakeholders, various customer teams, and/or executive leadership
Ability to work and support the work of others across multiple U.S. time zones
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and within tight deadlines, following detailed written policies, processes, procedures, and work instructions
Ability to produce high-quality documentation
SECURITY CLEARANCE LEVEL:
Must be able to obtain a SSBI (T5) public trust clearance, which requires residency in the U.S. for 3 of the last 5 years.

The likely salary range for this position is $144,500 - $195,500. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
